I made a point of eating at the Magpie cafe when I visited Whitby back in 2018. Excellent fish and chips, and it's good to see that they're still going strong!

Go over the bridge to Hadleys, no queues and lovely fish and chips. I was recommended to them by a local.

Thanks Tim. It’s been a while since I went to the Magpie and good to see it’s still the best. The fish is so fresh and as you pointed out the gorgeous white chunks. It’s no coincidence that the fish market is opposite. Great film as usual

looks beautiful. That huge plate of food made my mouth water. If that was a mini portion, I can't imagine what a normal or large sized platter could be. Loved the crunch!!!

We go to Whitby quite often, live nearby, our favourite fish n chips, in Whitby, is Mister Chips in Church Street.

The Fish & Chips in The Magpie Chippy Whitby was worth traveling over the Humber for.
I've never seen Fish look that white & look more like Chicken!
And the Batter looked super crispy!
The Chips looked amazing most Chippys I've been to the chips have those Brown bits & rather Squashed looking probably not fresh cooked!
Looks a really comfy Chippy cafe too, exp as it looked quite a dull day then Tim.
Really excited about seeing you in Whitby on Sunday 😊

Well Tim after your recommendation we visited the magpie cafe today..only queued for 20mins to get in and was Sat upstairs, this place is vast and must say you were right the fish & chips, mushy pies & pot of tea (tea leaves) was absolutely delicious top notch..even spoke to our lady server and she said she served you when you came in to do your video..Keep up the good work mate..👍

Tim we always go to the Magpie when in Whitby.
We have have been going to Whitby for 49 years and tried them all but it’s the Magpie that’s the best for us.

We've been visiting the Magpie for a few years now. Travelling from Stafford for a short stay in Whitby each year. The fish and chips really are the best and the quality is the same every time we visit. I've also had their fish pie which is also delicious. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Our first visit was in 2014 and we were there recently at the end of September 2022. We missed going during the lockdowns and also when the building was gutted by a fire.
We love watching your walks Tim. I lived in Suffolk for 20 years and regularly visit the Norfolk coast (Cley, Wells, Overstrand and Mundesley in particular.) Also enjoyed your visit to Sandbanks. Our car was actually in the Sandcastles car park behind you when you spoke about the building. You're right, it was a gorgeous building and the apartment we rented was fantastic. A real treat as we were there for my daughter's wedding.
Our second best fish and chips would be at The Harbour Inn at Southwold.
