We return to the Ardennes forest and find evidence of the German attack that happened here 75 years ago. Clear traces of this armoured attack are still present in these woods today. The US troops got ambushed and had to fight back hard.

My dad fought there & his brother was killed there. I wish I was there to feel the presence of my father I'm sure I could feel it. I'm a 75 year old son. Have always loved your channel with WW2 history.

My dad fought there as part of the 12th SS-Division. He was 17 years old and knocked out two tanks in close combat. On the retreat he was badly wounded and his life was saved by the Americans. Even after 60 years he really got nervous when he heard the noise of a tracked vehicle live a bulldozer.

I think it’s always interesting when y’all find much older things than world war 2. A lot of people aren’t aware lots of wars were fought in those locations.

This was another amazing video. My uncle fought there he was a US army medic. Your videos inspired me to get into metal detecting and I also get a sense when you are detecting at the battle of the bulge all the lives that fought and died and also survived both American and German, and where my uncle was, it's a beautiful place with tons of history. I am retired us army also.

My dad fought there. He was in General Patton's Ghost troops 3rd armored division. Could only imagine what it was like there. He told me many stories.

This is amazing to watch. My grandfather was killed there on December 27th 1944. He was an Officer in the 7th Armored Div. He was killed in Manhay Belgium during heavy fighting to reclaim the town.

I found a DM 42 marked 50 in the white sands of western New Mexico. It was an aerial training area. I am from Iowa and am always happy to find a DM marked case.

Do these artifacts make it to a museum? I'm surprised that more people haven't picked over these old battlefields yet.

This is so interesting. I would love doing that, but here in Germany I would be way too afraid to accidentally find intact ammunition or even bombs that just never exploded. I live close to the Ruhrgebiet that was heavily bombed out. God knows what's in the ground...
