I used to think rich people hiring super car inspectors who would examine every inch before a purchase was a bit ridiculous. But now I'm beginning to see why lol.

I remember a couple years ago people calling some guy entitled because he rejected delivery of his Koenigsegg at Pebble Beach because he wasnt happy with the paint quality, they were saying things like "its a hypercar, its supposed to go fast, who cares if the paints not perfect?" When you are spending 7 figures on a car EVERYTHING about it should be perfect. At $400k I would say more or less the same.

When I worked at Tesla, we were taught about imperfection tolerance and how much was passable. You wouldn’t believe what they would let pass. It was ridiculous.

The only 400k+ car I would consider purchasing would be something 💯% hand-built. Those rusting washers was what bothered me most. That is entirely inexcusable.

I've been fixing cars for 15 years. The people who complain about Tesla build quality should try fixing cars for a month. Very quickly you learn that pretty much all cars are pieces of shit.

British cars have always been shite, from the absurdly bad Lucas Electrics components that not only failed regularly in MGs, Triumphs and Minis, but also weighed 3x what they should have, to Aston Martin’s and Jags that spent the first 6-8 months of ownership in the shop before being sold at incredible losses in the 80-90s, to the Buick engines in Range Rovers that stayed broken, British cars are always compelling to look at but you need three of them to be able to drive one every day while the other two are down for repairs.
