My car very suddenly went from working perfectly to every single shift being really hard, but only once the engine warmed up. Ended up being the Transmission Control Solenoid. Had it replaced and went ahead and got a fluid and filter change while I was at it. It's been perfect ever since.

As a wise man once said:
"You better pray or you're out 10K"

I just fixed a cheap $10 transmission cooler line connector leak that would have probably costed me the transmission had I left it alone.
Check your transmission fluid!

I used to get a kick at stops. Then I switched out the transmission lines. I also greased the splines. It got rid of the problem.

Had a 2001 for windstar. Transmission was acting a little weird for about a week. Then I stopped at a stop sign, hit the gas, the engine revved up to about 4.5k and then I felt a hard jerk forward and heard a bang. Looked under the car and all I saw was pieces of metal and fluid leaking. Good times

I need to check my transmission fluid… I’ll be sure to pray beforehand though 😉

THERE ARE TWO OTHER THINGS IT COULD BE: Your Transmission control module could be going bad. Sometimes this is separate from the Transmission itself and can be replaced without replacing the entire transmission.
ALSO. It could just be a grounding issue. Check to make sure that the ground connector from your battery to your chassis is secure. If there is a lose ground connection usually the Transmission is the first thing to show symptoms (in my experience)

Also try unplugging cleaning and plugging.back in main electronics wire harness into transmission, usually located on top. Consistent issue with Hyundai, Toyota, Honda and chevrolet.

If it's a Nissan it was going out before you bought it.

Always try a fluid change and filter first. A clogged filter can cause these same behaviors.

I find the feeling of a transmission going out where it slows down really hard and the vehicle dives forward is sometimes a misfiring cylinder. I had that problem in an F-150 I had and thought the automatic transmission was going out, nope just the garbage Triton engine misfiring and no shop wanted to touch the spark plugs. I replaced that with a 2001 Tacoma with a manual and I thought the transmission needed to some TLC or was just that tough because I would let off the gas in any gear and the vehicle would slow down suddenly and dive one day. It ended up throwing a code that sent me on a hunt for vacuum leaks which I fixed, then replaced the PCV valve in the end. Runs like new.
