3 PD days per school year. Union states are where it’s at.

In our province it used to be every second Tuesday of the month we would get out an hour early so they could have PD. Then when my kids went to school it was 1 Friday a month the teachers would get PD. Now they get 3 out of 4 Fridays off for PD and the school is closed for 3 days so there can be parent teacher interviews every 3 months. Our kids literally go to school for 192 days out of the year.

Truer words were never spoken. PD is a waste of my life. 34 years a secondary math teacher. NEVER had a useful PD. Oh, and just because it has numbers in it doesn’t make it applicable to my Geometry or Algebra 2 course.

Three days of of the week, we have meetings. It's a waste of my life. I refuse to take my work home, so this is just taking time away from planning that I could use for my students.

My brothers old teacher got fired because they emailed a bunch of teachers to come to a PD at 4 in the morning for something and he stood up and told them off for that then tripped and accidentally cussed so they used that as a reason to fire him
