Took me 2.5 months to learn and make projects.
Started applying to jobs after the 1st month of learning, got 4 offers by the 3rd month. Started the job in the 4th month
P.S. you learn a lot from interviews and you start seeing some patterns in the questions

I’m a firefighter/medic now and I started a 7 month boot camp a couple months ago. I’m taking some extra SQL classes as well and am hoping to be hired by the beginning of next year. I plan on taking some extra Python as well. My plan is also to get as strong as possible in SQL. I’m in the program with Practicum and they guarantee a job in 6 months or less.

It took me 4 years, but it was worth the wait. Every industry needs data scientists if they want to keep up competition.

I am a data analyst and work with all levels and I would say 2-3 years depending on the field. Companies have different focuses and tools. The one thing people don't think about is how serious our work is and ppl rely on us getting it right or else we could cause companies millions. Hyperbolic I know but one should take their job serious and not just a get rich quick kind of approach.

Although I did not start from scratch, earlier this year I made it a goal to land a job by early 2025. So far, I’ve got one portfolio project and working on my second one. I’m mostly focusing on using SQL, Excel, and Tableau. I spend about 20 to 25 hours a week devoted to learning these skills. Hopefully, I wi have success by my goal date!

I've hunkered down and gotten the skills done, but no luck in getting a job for about 2 years.

Do you need SQL and Thaeblu? Also, what about Excel. Where do you start?

Ok. I have a situation. I'm 52, just losing my job to layoff. I'm a clerical office worker, very little professional IT experience, although i have automated my job heavily. Is a Udemy certification gonna help me get a new job?

what will happen if you get a degree related to data analytics?? Or can you enter to this field without one and focus only on the skills??

I got my Associate degree for teaching, but am considering looking into data analytics because my full-time job is offering FREE bachelor’s degrees in tech right now. I haven’t practiced tech stuff yet and I’m not great at math, but I enjoy data and statistics for the most part. Could I still have a shot?

So would getting a college degree in data analytics be unnecessary?

It seems like the industry is really flooded. Have you found people are struggling to attain employment? And when they do, is it satisfactory?

In my current field, I’m always having to settle or compromise. I feel undervalued and appreciated. I’d hate to leave and then struggle to earn income at all.

Thanks in advance for all help! 😊
