TAO OF MMA ELBOW IN THE CLINCH FEATURING BAS RUTTEN

In this fight training video, Bas Rutten teaches how to use an elbow in the clinch.

Dynamic Striking was started by a pair of black belts (Bernardo Faria & Michael Zenga) who feel that nothing is more important than improving your striking skills as much as possible in the least amount of time. Their aim was to create a shop for students interested in striking who don’t look at mixed martial arts as a sport – but as a lifestyle.

The definition of HOOK became much clearer to me when i actually started sparring. I had my guard up to block the hook but the hook still went THROUGH my guard like a thread and needle.

I said "oh...they call it a hook because it hooks..."

Always the best. Bringing old moves into new fashion. Next time THE STIFF LEG to the chest, after throwing someone into the ropes🤪

This was Igor Vovchanchyn's favorite KO punch. Overhand right hook (clothesline)

You can defend it actively. Attack the opponents forearm. But it is good at bypassing the passive defense.

Any time someone throws a big overhand punch like that clothesline, cover up, step in off-line and make them pay for the attempt.
The best defense for an indefensible shat like that is a good, aggressive offense. Step inside it.
