Love how KC is giving credibility back to Karate's watered down product w/ the majority of schools (North America) that I'm familiar with, emphasizes more on family programs and getting in shape while you empty your pockets for a system that doesn't really instill what 'Karate' is supposed to

If that's how a person wants to learn or spend their money, then go for I'm glad Karate is getting it's due once again, after being bombarded w/ 'McDojo-like' atmosphere's and Combat does justice for the art and always look forward to the competitions they put on as an alternative to the conventional MMA products out there....it's a breathe of fresh air.

Shotokan = Precise, Fast, and Linear.
"Ikken Hissatsu". Long to Medium range.

Kyokushin = Overwhelming force from a conditioned body. Medium to Short range.

Both when taught properly are very strong.

My style is Kyokushin, the hardest style of Karate because of the training. The style makes you strong and because of the training you never forget what you are taught. I know it’s a close fighting style but you have no fear of getting hit because your built for it. Kyokushin Oss.

Two of the strongest AND nicest guys ever. We need more of this please !! I'm tired of the so called superstars of the fight game. All we need is guys like GSP and Bas to represent the sport. Nothing but respect. Osu !

As a Karateka or nearly 30 years and third degree black belt I love you guys along with Machida restoring Karate's reputation. It was badly damaged by McDojo's and really a failure to adapt quickly to MMA. Many have adapted now and realize the Kata's include a lot of grappling techniques especially if you look at old school Okinawa with tegumi. Kumite should be more like mma, the Kata's prove that is what Karate is. McDojo's are still a problem though.

That was the first martial arts tutorial/guide to not be so awkward, and had such great chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed it, keep it up guys 🥋

Seriously from a martial arts perspective and someone who really appreciates the tradition of things this channel is becoming just a little more awesome with every video! On a serious note you have Lyoto Machida and Bas Rutten and Georges St-Pierre as a team up for education in karate! How in the hell does it get better than that?

I love both of these guys. GSP is a very technical fighter and a humble soul. Bas, well, he's amusing, warm and funny as hell!

I practiced Shotokan many moons ago... More than 30 years ago. Ouch! I do BJJ these days, but still have muscle memory from my teenage Karate days. Always remember thinking that Shotokan was a powerful style and I was "too light" to be any good at it. Misguided thought at the time. My only "claim to fame" lol, was becoming an All-Ireland under 21s Kata Champion. Wish it had been for Kumite, but lost in the semis lol. Thanks for the memories gentlemen. Osss!
