Is the ALL NEW 2023 Lexus RX 350 a BETTER luxury SUV than a BMW X5?

FIRST LOOK: The RX 350 is getting a FULL redesign for 2023. On the outside you will see all new sheet metal, new grill design, 21in wheels and full LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by a new seating, 14in infotainment system, and two-tone interior. Under the hood there is a 2.4L turbo inline-4 that produces 275HP & mated to am 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the ALL NEW 2023 Lexus RX 350 a BETTER luxury SUV than a BMW X5?

I know Lexus grills have been criticized in the past and I can understand why. However, I don't think it will be as controversial as the BMW grills. Those things are something else. Overall Lexus did a great job with this new RX.

Beautiful! They finally understood the assignment. One of the main reasons I didn’t get the previous years were because I was waiting on them to refresh the front grill and the rear a bit.

Great design except the front grill when it combines. Finally listened to you with the rear wiper :)
Dead pedal in aluminium is an additional 5 hp for fsport!
Looking forward for your full test drive of 500h fsport.
Back seats have tilt but no slide which is still good.

I bought a 2022 Lexus NX350h this year and the designers of the 2023 RX 350 took many of the features from the 2022 Lexus NX350. They lost so many features from the older Lexus models with the new Infotainment system. You cannot have dual display while navigating. The Apple Play is much better than the existing Lexus navigation. So you have to connect your iPhone connected to get better navigation. You cannot use the map and audio or phone display simultaneously. With the standard map display, it no longer displays the street name that you’re driving on. I’m not tall but have trouble getting in and out of the 2022 NX. And they dropped the height of the 2023 RX lower than the 2022 RX. I also own a 2017 RX350 which runs on regular gas. And now the 2023 RX has a 4 cylinder turbo that requires premium gas. What a mistake by Lexus.

Great review Joe, but for some reason I am hungry:) I love the whole look and have already been to the dealership to put a deposit to get in the queue to order one for this year 🇨🇦 thinking the 350h. I’m looking forward to the drive review. Hope there will be enough power with the engine change. Would like to hear more about the hybrid and if the package options are the same for Canada and the US. I believe the RX is also built in Ontario. Not sure about the 350h. I have more research to do. Great job on the review!

Absolutely better than a BMW- I have 2 friends that recently had to have their engines replaced in their BMWs, and they were both under 2 years old, and over 100k! I'll take Lexus reliability any day of the week. Exceptional review as usual!
