Don’t forget the ridge line!!! Best decision I’ve made was to buy one, these vehicles are basically the same except with a cargo bed

Best vehicles! Have an 06 with 226k miles and still running nicely no rebuilds and same transmission! Maintain it and she’ll last forever!

We have a 2004 Honda Pilot with over 150k. People say the transmissions are problematic in the first two production years, but if you just read the owners manual, it states plainly that the transmission fluid should be drained/filled every 35, 000 miles. I’ve done it every 40, 000 to 50, 000 and haven’t had any major problems yet. Changed one shift solenoid around 180, 000 and that was fairly inexpensive. Runs like a top.

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot 4WD EXL Navigation that I bought for $3200 back in December of 2019 with 196, 000 miles and I’ve had to put a lot of minor work into it like brakes, tires, battery’s, relays, fuses, some headlight and taillight bulbs, and a driver door window regulator, EGR valve, spark plugs, power steering pump and hoses, serpentine belt, new gaskets on the intake manifold, and oil changes, AC blower motors. and now 4 years and 3 months later I’m at 270, 000 miles and I’m planning to do the timing belt by next year since it was done in January 2018 at 194, 000 miles so I will be closer to that 7 years 100, 000 mile mark to do the timing belt replacement but my car is still running and driving great and it’s been paid off for all this time and it’s a really good SUV to own.

I bought an aftermarket catalytic converter for my 2005 Pilot bought on eBay with a lifetime warranty for like $150 in order to pass my NYS emissions inspection.

Because it was such a common vehicle the parts for it are plentiful.

My biggest issue with my Pilot is rust. Check the undercarriage for rust. If it's bad, walk away.

I agree, my Ridgeline is based off the pilot and I love my truck.

Timing belt and service and a catalytic converter. There's the value of that Pilot right there.

You are absolutely right about that BMW, unless you're a mechanic.. I owned a 1995 525, and since I was a trained mechanic in a previous career, I did my own work. I had to put in a new radiator, and water pump, and I replaced all the control arms and suspension.. if I had had to pay to have all that done, it would have cost a fortune.. thing is, it was only 10 years old when I got it.. other than that it was a great little car..

I’m not the most mechanically inclined, but I sure learned a lot working on my wife’s ‘08 Pilot. 206k miles. Redid the alternator, cylinder head gaskets, spark plugs, brake pads, and I got the parts ready for the water pump. Quite possibly one of the easiest vehicles to work on, and not so high off the ground to make it awkward. I have a few more things to do, but the relatively easy work has saved us a lot of money. Also, plenty of YT videos with these model years without too much electrical work.

My 2007 Honda Odyssey EX blew a spark plug at 78, 000 miles and acrewed up the engine. Of course Honda wouldn't replace the engine even though they determined it was a defective spark plug and having an extended warranty. This caused my van to begin to blow varying amounts of white smoke when I would start it. No matter how many times I took it back to the dealer they wouldn't do anything about the issue. Then it started eating catalytic converters. It went through all 3. The main one three times and the other two once each. At the third cat death my mechanic hollowed it out. Problem solved until the transmission went up at 167, 000 miles.

I bought an 06 Accord yesterday for $3300 as my first car because of your positive words for Hondas of the gen and it has 160, 000 miles.

I have had a 2006 Honda Pilot since around 2009. It had 57k on the odometer when I bought it. I now have over 277, 000 miles on it. I have only replaced the water pump, ignition, battery and drivers door latch. It drives like it did when I bought except it has a few noises letting me know she is not brand new. I love this car and it has been extremely dependable. I am about to give it to my son and buy a used Honda Ridgeline.
