Not true. Everyone is different. I know people who ate carbs more than protein all their life and lived a long healthy life. I know people who smoked cigarettes their whole lives and never got cancer. Although it's good to limit processed food and to avoid tobacco, there is not a single study that provides direct correlation.

Fat accumulation in the cells is what causes insulin resistance. (Molecular Biologists call it Intramyocellular lipid) Thousands of documented cases of people reversing Type 2 diabetes while feasting on fruits and vegetables (carbs) and eliminating added fats. Carbs don’t cause insulin resistance, but do raise blood sugar. Problem is, because of the insulin resistance cause by the fatty acids in the cells, that glucose cannot be absorbed and used by the cells, resulting in high blood sugar readings.

Your videos have been part of my journey to understand and beat diabetes. But there was always a doubt and since you are touching upon that in this video, I am hoping you will answer it. Why does it so happen doctor, that excessive carbs turn into diabetes in some and in others it shows as blood pressure or blockage in arteries, with their blood glucose remaining normal?

4 years on low carb/keto, 80 lbs lighter, all serious symptoms disappeared! I maintained a weight of 165+/- for 3 years then in January 2024 I lost more and went down to 150 which believe is not a good weight for me!? I'm 75, 5'9" and my bloodwork has been normal since I lost the weight, FBS at around 96 but I the afternoon in goes to about 70-85. Now, is this correct, it was suggested I reintroduce carbs so 5 day week I eat a slice of bread with breakfast, once a week on Saturday I eat a small Italian hoagie and a couple times a week for dinner I eat a small potato? I've regained some and I'm about 158 lbs. Now, based on what was stated in this video: am I chronically eating carbs?

How come ancient Chinese civilizations and many other Asian countries eats a lot of rice 🍚 and they they eat it with every meal everyday and they so skinny and healthy and never get diabetes???

what about seed oils? Wasn't that also the reason for diabetes? As in fat cells are also inflamed and don't know how to process insulin anymore? I think saying carbs are bad is overly simplistic. What if you do tons of cardio as well?
