Sum up hours and minutes in Excel by Chris Menard

If you need to total hours and minutes in Excel, you need to add an open and closed bracket around the h for hours.
Example: [h]:mm;@
You will use a Custom Category under Format Cells.

Why the hell this isn't an automatic feature in Excel is beyond me. Would 'adding h/m/s' not be one of the most performed functions, MS?
