How to Calculate Total Work Hours Minus Lunch Time in Excel

Step 1: Create a Template with Login, logout and break time to calculate lunch breaks in excel
Step 2: Write the formula = Logout Time – Login time – (Break End Time – Break Start Time)
Step 3: Right click on the result cell and click on Format cells
Step 4: Select Time and Then Select 13:30 or 24hrs time format.
Step 5: Drag the formula to autofill the column and done.

You just calculate total hours automatically deducting lunch breaks. This could be used as your excel formula to calculate hours worked minus lunch template.

But What if you have a fixed time break?
Like what would be the excel formula to calculate hours worked minus 1-hour lunch. Let’s say here we have a fixed 1-hour break. Well the formula is easier than before just use
= Logout Time – Login time - Break Time
Then change the time format just like showed above. In this way you can calculate hours worked minus 30-minute lunch also. This is how you can calculate hours worked while subtracting lunch hours.
