Great video. I really like how you do an exhaustive study while at the same time allowing the scripture to provide us with the answers.

Thanks so much for this video. I had a dream recently where verses on Melchizedek was being spoken. I woke up with the thoughts that came to me were about priests which my mind immediately thought of Christ our great high priest.

Hey Corey, love your videos. If I may, there is a Hebrews lesson from Pastor Stephen Armstrong of verse by verse ministries that discusses the order of Melchizedek. I’d like to offer that as a helpful study on the subject. God bless

When I 1st discovered this years ago my 1st thought was how in the world was Jesus Behind the order of Melchizedeth this person has to be someone powerful. And when I put all the names together and so forth it made me think this person must have been Christ. But I never felt comfortable saying it was so but my pastor believes it is.

Just because someone is in the LIKEness doesn’t mean that they are the individual to whom they are like.

Great job rightly dividing the Word,
Brother Corey.
Amen 🙏🏿

From using your accessment and based off scriptural analysis you have only three options for who Melchizedek could have been; either Jesus, an angel, or a man and I'm going to agree with you right now that it wasn't some angel so we can close that assumption.
However scripture does line up real well with him being a pre-incarnate Christ figure, which is who I lean towards but just for the sake of argument how do you feel about the Jewish tradition of Noah's son Shem being the High Priest of the Lord Melchizedek. If we are going with the option of him being a man then scripture does align with this argument from a figurative point of view.
Wouldn't you agree?

Really interesting video. In watching it, reading some of the comments, then trying to google about it, I'm probably going to leave this until I've progressed from being a baby Christian, lol.

Shalom saw that you taught about Melchizedek as I have learn a lot about who this is and want to see what you discover, I actually had a dream about Him and it was 🤯 mind blowing that I'm still wondering if this was just a dream or a revelation

Did a teaching on this in my college group, i think Melchizedek is a man because Abram interacted with him and he’s mentioned again in prophecy. The scriptures were usually specific if God himself encountered someone in Genesis. But Melchizedek has a name as well as a place he was King of which was in Cannan. It’s like typology, in 1 Corinthians 10 Paul talks about the rock from which they drank being Christ. In John 3 Jesus references the bronze serpent Moses held up. I think these are cases of typology that God ordered as a shadow or a reflection that showed Christ to come in the OT revealed to us through Christ and the Holy spirit who inspired the writers. They would quote psalms like Christ quoted certain scriptures in the time of his ministry and resurrection to show what the scriptures were speaking of. Hebrews 7 says Melchizedek resembles Jesus because he had no genealogy(beginning or end) and i think it’s saying that’s how he is compared to Christ because Christ resurrected and lived eternally as the son of God. So it makes sense to hat he qualifies as a high priest but one greater than Aaron because he’s one in the order or likeness of Melchizedek who ‘lives on’ and Abraham (and his descendants, Levi payed the tithe as well by being a seed in Abrams body as Hebrews says) payed a tithe to him showing he’s greater. So it continues to prove the point to these Hebrews that Jesus is greater than the old covenant including all the big name patriarchs who the Jews regarded highly of. And our savior has the power of a life that cannot be destroyed (he defeated death) making him the perfect high priest to rescue us from death and sin since the Old system (although god and spiritual) was not effective enough. But I think Brother is wise for not having a firm stance because there’s a mysterious to Hebrews in general and the wording is definitely hard, maybe Melchizedek was taken up like Enoch or Elijah? Idk maybe it would’ve said it🤷🏾‍♂️

"King of Salem" might be "King of City of the Lord.
The mystery you discuss begins earlier with the three guys that visit Abraham and his household, with Abraham describing one of those guys as looking like a, or the Son of God(s)

Otherwise, a beautiful discussion.

I read this passage the other day and said to myself that it was Jesus. Bread and wine with tithe? Who else could it be then all the other facts you mentioned, I’m convinced it was Jesus. Plus… He said “before Abraham was, I am”. And that Abraham was excited for His coming..
