I suffer from chrons desease for 20 years now.
The best advice it can be given is going with "trial and error" method.
Every single one of us is unique, our digestive tract, and above all our gut microbiome.
Nobody knows our body better than ourselves (except our moms, they know everything 😂), and what's is a problem for someone, probably it won't be for others.
We all know what food isn't advisable (same than for healthy people), and from the rest, above all in remission, keep trying different food and see what is fine to you.
For instance, in my case, i have reduced the diaries to some skyr(Icelandic yogurt) and keffir(probiotic).
I have reduced my meat intake (red or not), and increase dramatically plant-based stuff ( some need to cook like carrots, but others not, and i take them raw).
Nuts, seeds... always without excess, they all work good for me.
I cut all the sugar (just few pieces of dark chocolate daily), and reduced carbo meals.
For me it's working pretty well i would say. It's rare when i feel a flare and I would say the desease development is quite steady. And so happy for that.

Don't loose the hope of feeling better at the end of the way and keep being positive.

The information density in this video is unmatched by any other IBD related video I have ever seen. Thank you so much!

My dad suffers from Crohn's and he is 60 years old. The doctors in India find this disease entirely new and is so hard to get proper guidance here. Such videos and information is my only hope! Bless you guys!

One of the few very informative videos about HOW to eat during IBD flares. Awesome job!

I’ve managed my Crohn’s really well through diet for over 40 years. It wasn’t until 3 years ago, I discovered I am Fructose and Fructan intolerant (mainly wheat, onions, garlic, apples, pears and peaches), as well as eggs. It makes eating away from home almost impossible! ☹️

Great video. She has a soothing calm manner of explaining that makes you believe it is possible to manage the condition.

Goat milk has helped my cramping tremendously. I add kale or arugula to ramen. We grow a lot of food including meat chicken and pigs. I eat red meat in moderation. I was a mess when I ate too much red meat.
I’m still figuring out what is best for me. We moved to a large property to grow our food for this reason and to help others eat properly.

An excellent video. I am in the UK and was diagnosed with UC in 2010 and apart from a minor flare three years later, I have been symptom free ever since. I take a low dose of a non steroidal anti inflammatory daily but that is my only medication. I believe a large part of feeling well is due to my whole foods plant based diet meaning I avoid meat, fish and dairy. As we know animal foods are high in Omega 6 which is pro inflammatory while plant foods are high in Omega 3 which is anti inflammatory. My twice yearly blood tests confirm that my inflammatory blood markers are below the normal range.
Your older female viewers might be interested to know that I became post menopausal at the same time that I was diagnosed with UC and this may indicate that higher Oestrogen levels may also have an ant inflammatory effect.

I have Crohn's & Colitis and have been medication free for 4+ years. Diet plays a huge role but it is slightly different from person to person, although there are certain things you can do that will make a positive difference.

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2016 .. it took me almost 5 years to get my diet straight .. I avoid diary, gluten and red meat . That has helped me a lot . I do yoga regularly. I have gained 15 kgs in last two years . But after some time it’s really difficult to gain weight.

of the 6 prebiotic foods she listed I can only eat 2 (oats and bananas) tomato onions and garlic are too acidic and I have to avoid completely. tomato is a known trigger food but it basically takes most things off the menu

Great help !
I am in border line with IBD and have Rheumatoid arthritis.
The calpotectin level is 76 marker and doctors tells me 100 is confirmed IBD in Uk.
I am now going to follow your guideline for food and nutrition.
It is good to start now since I am in borderline right?
Many thanks 🙏

My doctor has said to avoid ginger, onion, broccoli and cauliflower at any cost. Idk it confuses more about the diet.

I think everyone has certain food triggers. Many are the same but it’s a vicious cycle of trial and error. I tried the FODMAPs diet which helped me with eliminating a few things I found are triggers including onions, garlic. wheat, beans and chickpeas, and cashews. I also can’t handle fried foods or dairy. The diet is based on the fact that certain fruits and veggies are quickly digested by bacteria in the gut which can cause bloating and gas. I hardly have either issue after following the diet. I’m also hardly ever nauseous because I usually only have that issue if I’m bloated. Now I’m mainly dealing with chronic fatigue, both constipation and diarrhea, and pain from an ulcer. Still not at severe as a few months ago.
