The problem is that fruits, veggies, legumes, and nuts can be very irritating to a digestive tract. in some cases a structured intestine could develop a blockage with rough foods. same goes for irritating diverticulosis

Sadly the Mediterranean diet made me more ill probably due to underlying allergies/food intolerance on top of ibs. This makes it very difficult so I'm pretty much on a low histamine/lectin diet. When symptoms subside i can slowly add more lectins in until i flare up.
