1) connect an Ethernet cable between TP Link and your PC, configure it on your browser: 192.168.1.1, "Operation mode", "Wireless router mode". This might not be necessary on models that are not modem/routers, just routers. But on the modem/router, it comes configured for DSL mode by default, which won't work.
2) connect the Ethernet between between the Hub 3.0 and your PC, and configure it on your browser: 192.168.0.1, "Hub Settings", "Modem Mode"
3) setup the final Ethernet connection: "LAN4/WAN" port on TP link to VM Hub Port 1.
4) once everything is connected and the is TP Link turned on and fully booted, reboot the the VM Hub

Not covering the web UI parts because it is already well documented elsewhere and lazy to do the editing.

The Wireless of the TP Link ARCHER VR2800 is significantly better at long range than the Hub 3.0 one. When in the same room, I managed to max out the 256 MB/s download speed on an Internet speed test. Make sure to use the 5.0GHz Wifi, the speed difference is drastic otherwise.

Surely this can replace the hub because it is a modem too?
