This device is fantastic. Boosts signal to rooms that had no or 1 Bar signal to full strength in the bedrooms upstairs.

aight found this in the loft, turns out it's still perfectly useable, i can't speak for potentially excessive power usage from old protocols or whatever but if you're not too worried about that then this works fine, just do as the comments mention, no extension leads, same power network, if you're worried about power network jsut try it and do speed tests before and after connection, you'll know pretty easily.

also worth mentioning i didn't find it to make much of a difference with 5GBPS, but if you're having connection issues in the first place you'd be on 2.4

I bought TP-LINK TL-WPA4220KIT recently and it works flawlessly so far. I have plugged it "upside down" in power socket so as not to block the lower socket. Also, the two devices are not in the same power circuit, but still work okay. The speed varies but is fairly high (around 270 Mbps) - you can check it in the TP PLC utility that contains the network topography with settings and parameters. Perhaps the device has changed hardware/firmware-wise within the 5 years since this video was published.

guys if you have a problem, make sure that it is not plugged into a surge protector or extension cord or anything that plugs into the wall in front of it. This has to be plugged DIRECTLY into the outlet.

this is not nearly as straight forward as the directions or this video make it seem

People saying the clone button doesn't work, it does. Best way to do it is pair and clone it all in the same room. Plug the adaptor into the wall and ethernet cable into the modem, then plug the reciever into a plug close to it, pair as stated in the video, wait till that is done then clone by pressing the wps button on your router followed by the clone button on the reciever. Worked for me straight away after trying to do it unsuccessfully in a different room. Once all connected then move the reciever to the desired room.

Will this work if the power lines are on a different circuit do they have to be on the same circuit? In my office the router is on one side and they have separate power circuit to where I am at the rear..

Bought this yesterday, will return it today. In a small appartment (55m2) it does not provide a signal with a normal range. The signal is 50% lower within 7 meters in a straight line, in the next room (single stone wall, door open) the signal is a even 25% (that's 4 meters from the extender)

The clone function worked exactly once on my wireless adapters. When I changed my router from an open network to a secure network, the clone buttons didn't work anymore.

so if I want to extend my wifi, I still need to pair them? It doesn't say anything about that...

Awesome product.
I set mine up in my garden office which is around 20 meters away from the main router in the lounge in my house. I tried and tested many ways to set up this device, It works best when you plug the small tp link adapter in a mains wall outlet. I plugged the bigger device (wi fi booster) into an extension power strip in my office. It worked but I had much reduced speed, I then switched it over to a wall mains outlet and I was getting almost maximum speeds. I have sky fibre broadband with a maximum speed of 39mb.
I was averaging speeds of 29 to 33mb on the speed test website and that was using WiFi on my macbook pro. When I switched over to an ethernet cable I was getting 34mb to 35mb.
A good tip is, don't plug any of the tp link devices into a surge protector strip as it hinders its performance.

I've managed to complete the extender procedure and I also then followed the instructions for extending the wireless connection. My internet access on phones, laptop and tablet all show a very strong signal is available.

However, using the normal password for access to the router failed and I have no idea what to now do. Could you assist or advise ?
