I've been loving my Pixel 8 Pro. I haven't had any issues whatsoever. Zero complaints.

Hi all, new Pixel owner, used to be a Samsung fan and decided to jump brands. Got my P8 Pro at launch and have been thoroughly impressed overall. I use my Pixel for practically everything; email, shopping, pictures ... etc. The big selling point for me is the promise of 7 years of updates and I hope they stick to it.

Had the pixel 7 which I ditched because of poor battery and overheating. Then had the s23 ultra which was nice, but got tired of samsung and them having a duplicate app for everything. Got the iphone 15 pro, but in the end that's just an iphone.. Now on the pixel 8 pro and I love it. Finally a pixel I can use again, I feel the same about this phone as I did when I got my pixel 2. Great phone.

Pixel 8 Pro is a breath of fresh air compared to the Pixel 6 Pro. The design and the software are so much better.

I've got the pixel 8 (non pro), love it apart from a couple of things. I'm upgrading from a Galaxy A71 so it's a massive upgrade.
Firstly, SOT for battery is amazing on wifi, over 8 hours easily I can achieve. On data, I can probably get around 4 hours usually, with no difference in my testing between LTE and 5G.

The only other issue I have with the phone is one time it overheated. It was charging in my car, plugged in for android auto, playing Spotify through the car and running a hotspot for a friend's phone and I got a notification that the phone was too hot. So yea, otherwise zero issues.

Love the phone either way. Really good design and I appreciate the great hardware and software experience.

Won a Pixel 8 Pro on eBay, and received it a few days ago. My daily driver was the Fold 5; the UI smoothness and camera are so good on the Pixel that I'm contemplating to sell my Fold. I do love having a tablet in my pocket, but the Pixel is winning me over.

I'm using a Pixel 6A and I believe I don't need an upgrade until Pixel 10 or so

I bought the Pixel pro 8 today. I came from a iphone 13 pro max. The reviews stated it's easy to swap from iOS to Android. the person at the phone stated the same thing. Just plug in the cable and everything transfers over. It took about 30 minutes. I left and went back to work. My most used contacts are not there. Oh joy. I started adding my contacts manually. Then predictive text took over and respelled some of the last names into words. WTF. All my wifi passwords are gone. Had to reset up. My app passwords did not transfer over. It's a lie. Oh the Pixel 8 pro runs hot in the hand.

Judging from the Pixel 9 design leaks, it will be interesting to revisit this video same time next year

i got my p8p day one thanks to the pw2 deal, no issues at all, a solid phone. while I am no overly pleased at the price, I do think its good that we have choices between this and other more expensive phones like the s24u and iphone 15. yes its certainly not got a class leading chip or battery life, but both are about good enough and I would rather have the camera and OS and cheaper price.

10:05 I have also experienced this drastic drop in battery life at a random point during the day, usually when I start using it for about 20 minutes on basic chrome Web browsing, or other relatively low power apps like instagram after being idle for most of the morning, the battery drops around 10-20%

I'm loving my pixel 8 pro so far. I've had it since launch and only ever had one weird bug happen to me. The "USB moisture detection" thing disabled my USB for many hours ( I know that's what it's supposed to do, but it usually clears up after a while). The USB didn't work well into the next day. I actually believed I somehow broke the port somehow. However A quick reset had the USB port working like normal tho.

Iva had every single Pixel except pixel 1 and 5, now i have 7 pro didn't buy 8 pro and wont be buying another pixel unless google starts debugging (and making usable without a problem after each update) its OWN SYSTEM that even brands like xiaomi and realme have mastered and Samsung has perfected. Problems that im experiencing and have been throughout generations of pixel phones are, bad battery life, gets hella hot even when i edit a picture, main cam is good for pics not so much with video, portrait mode ? Stuck in 2018, selfie cam is bad very bad, 4g falls off, wifi, bluetooth, not even mentioning how it works with social media apps. I switched to Samsung s24 ultra, the best decision I've made. Ive always had a soft spot for pixel phones but im not willing to pay 1000€ which is 1200ish $ to have a phone that gets on my nerves, hangs, doesn't work properly.
P.S. Charging speed

I bought it months ago but I love it. Definitely had some issues early on with battery life but it seems to have improved a lot. Now I hit a good 7-8 hours SOT before I need to charge my battery, so on work days it typically lasts two days. Weekends are still daily charge but it lasts all day.

Back when I first got it, it was like 3-5 hours SOT before I had to charge and it was super annoying. But since battery improved with updates or adaptive battery or whatever happened, I've re-enabled a lot of features I previously disabled to improve battery. So 5g is back on, 120hz is on, etc. And it's functioning great.

I will say it's closer to 6-6.5 hours SOT if I'm on 4G/5G all day with no WiFi though. But that's still plenty to get me through the day. And if I'm all on a trip or something I'm likely to bring a portable charger or battery bank anyway.

The "bad battery day" seems to happen on the odd occasion when certain apps are not updated. It's the same with the Pixel Watch. A week ago my Pixel Watch suddenly started draining really quickly. It turned out that I hadn't updated a couple of apps...

I bought the Google Pixel 8 Pro on the launch day & I am well pleased with my decision & with the phone overall. I have had some very minor issues with this phone but nothing that I couldn't resolve on my own. This phone has been very solid for me over the past 6 months and I'm very excited to pre-order the Google Pixel 9 Pro in October of this year.

Do love my pixel 8 pro. I also loved the pixel 7 pro but its battery and heat issues were a problem whereas the 8 line solved most of that. I was scared that the lack of a curved display would make it less comfy to hold and look at but honestly the new screen is perfect. Its comfy and looks fantastic. Great software too except some micro stuttering which i never had on the 7 pro. Hopefully they will still fix it on updates.

I upgraded from the 6 Pro to the 8 Pro. At first I was sceptical and was worried it won't be that much of an upgrade but the screen alone was already worth it for me. The brightness boost transformed my experience whenever I'm outside or in brighter environments. The rest of the phone feels like a refinement rather than a revolution.
For the first time I also went with 256 GB instead of the base 128 GB. I don't regret that as I've found myself shooting a lot more video with the 8 Pro because it's a lot better than the 6 Pro's video. It wasn't bad in good daylight but anything other than perfect lighting felt grainy compared to the 8 Pro.
One thing that still doesn't feel "finished" is 5G. I had that off on the 6 Pro and after trying it for a few weeks I turned it off on the 8 Pro as well. They will definitely need to improve the modem and oveal CPU efficiency to really put a dent in the sales of the S24U and 15 Pro's of the world.

No. 120 GB needs to go useless for a phone nowadays. I'm in love with my pixel 8 pro. The only thing I wish I knew if they had a mint one coming out sooner I would have got that also instead of the blue but I will be going with the next pixel 9 when it comes out as well
