Video boost is actually good if you use it in low light

When this phone launched, I trashed it, comparing it against the Snapdragon 8 V2/3 flagship offerings. I was initially excited about the Pixel 8 Pro and having a secure Face unlock on an Android phone? But numerous reviews noted the lower performance and battery life. So for $1099ish for a 256 I felt it was overpriced especially compared to the more recent OnePlus 12 price/performance. Well, I think I had it wrong. I bought one of the "renewed" P8 Pros from Amazon and call me impressed. I don't play games on phones, so that probably helps some, but I like it, especially at $700+. :) It's a great phone, and I am enjoying it. The battery life is fine for my uses. Sure, it won't charge to 100% in 25 minutes, but I just charge it overnight anyway. It's a great phone that meets my needs and then some. And truth be told, a flagship phone is overkills for my needs anyway. The P8 Pro fits very snugly into my life.

I've had zero issues with my Pixel Pro 8. Sure, I'd love a longer battery life but it's fine for my use. My biggest issue with the Pixel 6 was the fingerprint reader. The one on the pro 8 is definitely an upgrade from that. I will most definitely buy another Pixel.

I remember how i was in Tokyo, you leave your hotel at 9:00am using google maps and gps of course and 13:00 battery die and you in a middle of the unknown city

I love my pixel Fold and 8 pro, 8, 8a. Awesome devices. Love these phones.

My problem with pixel phones is the camera. When the lights fall, pictures coming from the pixel get darker. When the sun is not shining pictures are darker than on other phones.

This phone is really really good. I love all the smarts in the tensor chips, and the Pixel 8 Pro feels really good in the hand without a case. The photos are GREAT and the software is awesome.

I've been using a Pixel 8 pro since day 1 and I totally agree with you : this phone is a very good synthesis and, at last, offers an excellent compromise for an any day use.

Great review, really like my 8 Pro. Try the Google case for it, feels great in hand. Sure hope they don't copy the sharp flat edges of iPhone with Pixel 9.

I'm really enjoying my P8P regardless what the tech snob community on YouTube says. It seems that Google's products are often subjected to more scrutiny than those of other companies. When Google does something good, it often goes unnoticed, but when it does something wrong, it becomes exaggerated. This seems unfair. I'm curious to know when Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi will receive the same level of scrutiny that Google does. It seems that Google always takes the brunt of the criticism, perhaps due to its immense popularity and the fact that some people seem to have a negative opinion of the company and its products.

If you are waiting this long ... Best to see what the 9 pro brings to the table... Or at least get a few hundred dollars off on the 8 pro... Like... You can get one now for around 600 so... 4 to 500 bucks should be a good number to buy.

The one area pixel behind iphone is the video
But they provide video boost
While thay feature takes time to give you the result, but it worth it
Its not make pixel in the same level as iphone video, but at least they can sit together in "phone with good video" table

I think the Samsung based Tensor is all that's holding this device back from further adoption, that and why oh why does google release in the same window as iPhone releases.
