Is the Pixel 8 Pro still worth buying? 👀Let us know you're thoughts!

It’s laughable when reviewers say things like still worth buying for a phone that came out October 2023, not everyone changes their phone every 6 months, 😂

Just upgraded to Pixel 8 Pro from an iPhone 12 Pro. Dual SIM user here. Couldn't be happier. Can't wait to take astrophotos of the supernova this year.

Short answer: it is. Not worth buying every year just to get that one or two upgrade you're looking for. Doesn't change user experience.

I got an 8 pro at launch and I agree it isn't a gaming device but brilliant at photography

eh. I think we're at peak smartphone. I've replaced my pixel 4XL battery *twice* and it's fine! New features these days are so minor and incremental a phone from 2, 3 even 4 years ago is still perfectly capable.

Just got my 8 Pro a few days ago and the pictures are stunning

I've had this phone since Dec 23. I switched from iPhone and haven't really looked back. I love the camera functions and the video capabilities are amazing. I am a musician and videos are important. The Video boost function has been integral for that.
I've never used the temperature function, so not too bothered about that. What I love the most about this phone, is the ability to customise SO many more features within the phone.
I would say, YES, this phone is certainly worth buying now.

Yes it's a very good phone, I had iPhones, Samsung's, , the photos are top notch. The best part I like is the call screening, it answers the phone and sends a message to screen your calls .

One aspect you didn't touch is battery life. I bought a pixel 8 pro in December 2023. I am very happy about the battery, but I have to confess, I use the pixel 8 pro all the time in battery saver mode. If I feel I need more power, I disable the battery saver mode, but I rarely see the need to turn off the battery saver mode.
I'm using accubattery pro and I have to say that my battery heath increased from 100% to now 104%. I can easily go through the day on a single charge. I have so far NEVER had to charge more in a single day. Compared to my old mi 9T pro, it is just twice as good.
I was very worried about the battery life, but it seems that the battery life is not an issue.
This is my honest review about the battery life. I have no affiliation with google. I actually wanted to buy another phone, but I ended buying the pixel 8 pro as I was in an emergency situation when my 9T pro screen just died.

Am I the only one who likes the curved displays exactly for the reason that it makes swipe gestures more satisfying and easier?

Actually, I find it much easier to make the back gesture on a slightly-curved display than a totally flat one, especially Pixel's, since the metal edge of the frame is at the same level with the glass. Also, curved looks more futuristic. Don't forget that flat displays are way older than the curved ones. Also...iphone as an example ? Really ?

I went from a 3XL to a current 7a, and just ordered the 8 Pro 256Gb that had discount. From here gonna wait until 2nd gen TSMC

Had the 7 pro and although I loved that thing the tensor was just a headache, a lot of optimization issues, heating issues, battery life issues and signal issues, ended up selling it and going with the s24 ultra, I'm not getting another pixel until google figures out how to make a proper SoC

l just take whatever I can get for free... every year these companies ask $1000 and then reviews hype it up for 3 months and then start acting like.its old and u should wait for the next one and it goes on and on. I'm not falling for this anymore personally I'm just gonna shop on my budget

Finally, somebody have my main concern, the photo sliders. That was my fav feature in pixel.

0:55 I've personally found it's actually easier and more comfortable to swipe from the edge on my curved display than any other phone I've used. I hope at least some phones continue having curved displays.

I just ordered a pixel 8 pro. Waiting for delivery. Then I saw a 9 announced 😂 but I think the pixel 8 will be cool, and I can say I have a "pixelate"

This is my upgrade after 5 years 😌
Going from the iPhone XS.

Also they had a promo of an extra £100 for trade in so I’m expecting to get £210 for my XS!

Swapped my 8 pro after 4 months to a galaxy s24 ultra. Miss the camera and the face log in for banking apps. Camera was like 2 generations ahead of what I have in the Samsung which sucks. However I don't regret the swap. S24 ultra is the better phone especially in performance. The pixel isn't slow but the snapdragon runs rings around it. Especially notice it when you're juggling a few apps at a time where the tensor just seems to take a beat to think about what it's doing.
