A few months ago, Google launched their flagship smartphone, the Google Pixel 8 Pro. Is it better than the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max or the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra? Another question you might have is, how does it fair against the new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra?

After 3 months of usage I try to answer these questions and ultimately find out whether the Google Pixel 8 Pro is still worth it in 2024.

✅ The items I mentioned in this video:

I have the Pixel 8 Pro currently, despite not being a fan of large phones. But I really appreciate the bigger ultrawide and telephoto cameras. Something about the clean Pixel UI and the smart Pixel features, combined together they all make the best smartphone experience for me. Not perfect in every aspect, but the best overall.

I'm enjoying mine. I choose this over my S23Ultra for shear pockability. It does everything I need it to do. Texting, occasional YouTube, checking emails, etc. It's a great phone. I'm not taking a bunch of pics but know that when I do, it'll be a great photo, barring my framing it cause i'm no pro photog. I really like it. Android Auto works great. Phone calls connect great, wifi is great. It's a great phone.

If 6/7 hours of screen are not enough then the problem is not the phone but the user of the phone 😅

I’ve watched 20+ reviews of this phone and this is by far the most enjoyable and most informative for the regular user. Great stuff !

Nice video! But I am a bit surprised by this video coming out now. Video Boost has been here for more than a month for me, performance has since been improved as well (noticably on Genshin Impact). There now are very few scenarios where S23U or 15PM are better in photography or video. In most situations, the quality, reliability and flexibility of the Pixel camera is so much better than the competition IMO.

Looove the polished production in your content. Yikes. Great reviews, super tastefully perfectly placed visuals. Oh and yes the PIxel 8 line is stupidly legitimately the real deal. Txs dude. 🇨🇦

Very nice and clear review. You centered the point in this video, I recently switched from S23U to Pixel 8 Pro and I completely agree with you. It's not a matter of benchmarks and numbers, because I went from 1.6M to 800K antutu score Phone and I'm not noticing any lag. Every task is executed without any lag or really fast, also having a ufs 3.1 instead of 4.0, no lags.
Pixel needs to be seen from the daily usability perspective.

Switched from the S23U because of edge corners, weight, dimensions and...the lens switch during 4K60 video recording.
The S23U with the double of power couldn't perform the switch while recording, the Pixel 8 Pro is able to do it and without any lag.
Where is the point to limit smartphones? Maybe marketing? The S24U now is able to do it.

Btw thanks a lot for your video, you have another subscribed user! 💪💯

Bought one last week... 2 hours after getting it I hated it, decided I was taking it back... Decided to give it a couple of days... And now I absolutely love it... The camera features are amazing ..

New to your channel. Thanks for a relaxed easygoing review. Just bought the phone from GiffGaff in the UK on one of their reduction days. Got 256GB version for £750 which is £250 cheaper than the usual price. The phone performs great for me and have experienced none of the problems many have reported in the past. Photography wise it is really great

My concern about this phone and why I decided wait to the S24 ultra is how long this chip is going to perform fine through out the years, if today it is lagging behind the rest of the flashships how is going to be in two-three years, maybe for all YouTubers are fine because this year all of them are going to change to the pixel 9, but at least for me this is a concern when your are going to spend $1000 in a phone

You really nailed this one right here! The absolute essence about using a Pixel is how smart and refined everything is. It makes me calm in some ways that I dont experience using other flagship phones like 15 Pro and S23 Ultra which I´ve already sold :) Pixel are amazing products and hopefully the fanboys from the other brands will be discovering this from now on :)

Maybe you have a faulty iPhone 15 Pro Max because I haven't experienced any "overheating" on mine. I don't play Genshin Impact but I do play Diablo Immortal, COD Mobile, I tried the Resident Evil Village Demo, along with various other less intense games. I even do point cloud LiDAR scans that contain upwards of 1GB of data (I'm a structural engineer so I use it for work sometimes alongside our Matterport LiDAR scanner) and it has run smooth and cool to the touch all the time. Just saying, you might have a defective unit if yours is getting super hot.

Really good, balanced review. I'd love to go caseless but the Pixel 8 Pro is just so slippery, as you mention, I just have to use a case.

Awesome video Alex. I really like the looks of the multi screen view and the quality of the photos. I didn’t realize the iPhone 15 Pro could reach temperatures of 120°F. Imagine that here in Florida where the temperature outside is always hot. I’m glad I haven’t purchased The 15. Becoming more impressed with the Google phones.😊👊

Hmm I've been playing genshin impact hours at an end and it kept it steady at 30fps on high settings. The phone does get warm but within acceptable limits.

I know this because I have the frame counter on at all times due to tech reviewers whining about this😂

I haven't experienced any visible slow downs, perhaps a very few times in Mondstant when doing a quick 180, but never in the open world or even when fighting multiple monsters.

Star rail runs smoothly at 60 fps even.

Heck I used to play genshin smoothly on the 865 chipset...

i have a Kuwaiti Friend who import this Pixel 8 Pro from the USA to Kuwait at Launch date.

He told me that 5G is not supported in Kuwait.
Signal Reception is not good.
The other caller cannot hear him.
And he ended up selling it after a week.

I was thinking about upgrading from my S22ultra but seeing how the pixel 9 might be coming out this year I might wait a bit longer. But great review almost made me want to switch now haha.
