A newly released video sheds new light on the moments leading up to Richard Russell crashing a plane. The footage shows him going through security wearing a T-shirt that says "the sky's no limit." He then boards an empty 70-seater plane and took off. Russell flew the plane around Seattle for an hour while National Guard fighter jets were scrambled in fear. The 2018 incident ended when Russell crashed the plane onto a remote island, killing himself.

"Having a few screws loose" and "being a broken guy" is a hurt most have never known. Rest in peace, fella.

He seemed so nonchalant about the whole ordeal, almost like he was at peace and just wanted to go out in style.

He still deserves full credit for being the only person, who on their first flight without any experience before, chose a large passenger plane, did a looping in it, which is a feat the most experienced pilot wouldn't dare to do, didn't loose control over it and perfectly hit the spot where he wanted to crash.
He has got to be the best Pilot I have ever seen.

I was crushed when I learned about Beebo Russell. I’ve never thought it was possible to grieve someone you’ve never known or met. I’m so sorry to his family and friends

That dude has a place in my heart, i think all he really needed was a friend to be there for him

For a man who hasn’t flown a plane in his whole life, he was really good at flying the plane in the beginning. He did big upside down loops in the air with the plane. Had he stayed calm and been sane, he would have been better than a stunt show pilot.

As a pilot, he spoke more than anyone else in the entire aviation industry. Ground handlers have it rough, pilots have bad days, flight attendants work when feeling sick but no one can say a damn thing.

the fact that he didn't want anyone else to die in this shows really who he was.

Not gonna lie, I find it really impressive that this guy was able to smoothly take off without any flying experience.

he was such a good man to. he crashed on a remote island so he didn’t hurt anyone, and he wanted to end it doing what he loved. i wish he could’ve been saved.

100% respect the fact that he didn’t take anyone else with him. He didn’t crash in a densely populated area and he only took himself

Just goes to show, you NEVER know what a person is dealing with EMOTIONALLY. R.I.P

"notorious crime" is giving public space to "inside edition".
This guy is King of the Skies.
RIP brother.

*”Before you go song.”* Hits even harder now after watching that guy finally break free from this world’s suffering… I envy and pity him of being able to end it all right there, bravely. It takes a lot of courage to do it, after all.

He sounded like a good guy who you would have liked to be friends with, it's such a shame

As a Ramp Supervisor for an airline with a private pilot license & over 400hrs of flight time I have to say the most impressive thing about this whole situation was how he was able to unhook the towbar which usually takes 2 people on each side of the nose landing gear to detach the towbar in sync and he did it with the breaks released on the aircraft and jumped back in. Idk what he would’ve done had the towbar not detached 😭😭😭

It is a shame that some people feel the need to commit suicide....one of my dearest friends racked back the slide on his 1911 and ate a bullet none of us ever saw it coming....
He left no clues or any type of red flags in any one he talked to just sat down in his kitchen and went away and I really wished that he would have said something about his demons....this kind of thing is beyond devastating to those they leave behind so any one
Out there considering this please please seek help.

He didn't take anyone with him, in the air nor on the ground; kinda have to respect him for that. I just hope he found some joy or peace being in the air with a carefree attitude before he crashed it.
