The quick response of the police by stopping the traffic prevented even a bigger catastrophe

I don't understand why the construction crew was still on the bridge. Did nobody mention to them that they needed to leave? If the police were blocking off the bridge could nobody have warned them. If the crew saw police lights and heard sirens would they not have left? Those poor construction people.

If the traffic was stopped on both sides, why weren't the construction crew told to leave?

Some ppl need to be realistic.. I mean the people that think this was some intentional thing to harm or kill the construction crew.. this was all in a matter on a few minutes and your police who halted traffic to now cross the bridge when its about to collapse to notify the crew. Some things are hard to overcome

That doesn't make any sense? WHY would the video go out? For what reason?

If the police stopped traffic entering the bridge, that means the very last car to get on it could drive all the way across safely.
Meaning, a police car could have immediately, upon arriving, driven with sirens/lights on at top speed and picked up construction workers and gotten across ... even before the final car got across.

Listening to the radio of everything, it sounds like NO actually thought the ship would do any damage. One gentleman said that he was going to go alert the crew, once everything was cleared or something to that effect.
Then the other crew member said he heard yelling and jumped… we honestly can’t say if they were aware of what was happening or not.

So your telling me there was no back up generator in the boat, no communication to the construction crew and no horn to notify everybody on the bridge that its going to crash into it?

As a road worker, my heart goes out to the families of this crew. Since I first saw their lights on the bridge, my heart has broken for them. They never saw it coming and were on break in their trucks, just like we do during breaks. I can't imagine the horror they experienced as they plummeted to their doom. Those poor souls... 😔

Was the ship not blasting its horn prior to impact ?..Why were the workers not alerted

camera's like these, webcams, have some lag, the images are received a couple of seconds after filming so, at the moment the cables are cut by the falling bridge, it's still sending images that are a couple of seconds older, that is why we cannot see the bridge falling, the camera's probably filmed the start of the fall, but not in time to send the images to the control post
