I've cut out meat potatoes and junk food.. started drinking more water and made lot of detox water my fav is lemon strawberry and blueberries.. I ate a lot of salmon with a salad and been trying the intermittent fasting and my weight just started sliding off like butter

No sugar. Sugar causes a lot of blemishes. Natural sugars from fruits and vegetables are OK. And good luck with your diet.

Just started on my vegan journey about two weeks ago. Will say its more like vegetarian because I'm still eating bread some days and have had sour cream, but very little. Results are kind of amazing. I weighed myself about a week and a half in and had lost about 7 lbs. I broke a personal weight I haven't seen since having my daughter 8 years ago. I am diabetic and my blood sugars are reading within normal range. If you haven't committed yet watch a few documentaries which may help push you over, all of these are either on youtube or Netflix... PlantPure Nation, Vegan 2018 and Game Changers (2018). Really great information, helped me to decide. I also work for a major health organization in the claims department and I kid you not, the #1 diagnosis I see on major medical claims coming in everyday is Cancer. It's crazy to think that you can almost eliminate your chances of getting cancer by changing to a plant based diet. Hope this helps somebody.

I recently went vegan and i just put my mind to it and it really haven't been hard to do, but my "WHY" is because I have lymphedema in my left leg and I want to see by me not eating any dairy/animal product is it going to make a change with the inflammation in my body. It's important for many people to know your "WHY" and not just doing it to be doing it. But I pray that you and Dee will continue on this new journey of health and that God will Supernaturally heal him from the top of his head to the soul of his feet and that God will bring your body back to your natural weight and heal you of anything that might be attacking your body. I went vegan and I found I lost weight faster than with keto. You can also try eating vegan during weekdays and eating meat on the weekends

You can do curry chickpea and potatoes, curry eggplant, curry vegetables. So good. Last year went on a fibroid elimination diet where I eat plant base. I lost over 20 pounds in a month. I did raw food. Lots of smoothies for breakfast. I works

Ive been vegan for almost 6 years and you can definitely recreate just about anything. Also most breads actually are vegan there are a few brands that contain milk but its usually just yeast and water. Just read the label to be sure.

Not that you should have it often, but, you can have natural bread without eggs or dairy - usually with 5 ingredients or less. Such as rye or cracked wheat. You can find those at Fortinos or NoFrills or a bakery. Just stay away from the big brands containing chemicals and added sugar.

Pinterest is my favorite for different recipes. I have a board dedicated to just vegan Jamaican recipes. Jerk, curry, and stews! I also found this recipe for Shepherds pie that has grains and lentils instead of ground beef or turkey. Let me tell you. AMAZING! So good that all my meat eating friends/family loved it too! You can also look at West Indian foods like green bananas, breadfruit, yams, sweet potatoes and eddoes with okras, stew pumpkins, callalo, stew peas or string beans as meat substitutes. Have callalo soup, peas soup or split peas soup. You'll be surprised that we have so many West Indian foods we can eat minus the meat that will give us a balanced diet and is healthier then eating tofu on a regular basis.

Congratulations!! I live a whole food vegan lifestyle and practice intermittent fasting on top of strength training and jogging. I emphasize eating whole foods because there are a lot of processed vegan foods on the market. Many are loaded with just as much sugar, sodium and calories so please be mindful.Usually eat those products such as Beyond Beef, Gardeins, and Quorn products which is still healthier than most on a cheat day.Glad you like tofu because I love it along with seitan seasoned with zataran. The first thing I tell people to do when considering veganism is to educate yourself and slowly cut things out so that your body adjust to the change. Learn how to cook if you don’t know how, only shop outside of the food isles which is where you usually find the vegetables, fruits and bulk items. Only go to vegan restaurants instead of a mainstream one if you go out. Good luck on your vegan journey !!

Idea about the acne: if you are taking a vitamin b12 to supplement your vegan diet, and the vitamin b12 is made out of “cyanocobalamin, ” that could be a cause for the breakouts. It can cause acne, because that type of synthetic b12 is made out of a “cyanide, ” and while it is probably safe for your body, your body might see it as a threat, and try to detox from it really quick, by expelling it through the skin. That could cause the acne. Try to find a vitamin in which the b12 is made out of “methylcobalamin” (methylated b12). That probably won’t make you break out. It could also be caused by any added sugar you are eating, but it sounds like you are eating less sugar, so that might not be it. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe your body is just detoxing from some things that had been in it before. Or, maybe, now that you are vegan, there is something you are eating that is a bit toxic to you. Tofu has estrogen-like properties. Those hormones can affect people in different ways. Those are just some thoughts. It is awesome that you are on this health journey. I love to see people paying attention to what they put in their body, and to how their body feels in response to food. Congratulations!!!!
