If you’ve never had a panic attack you can’t understand how horrible it is. It’s not regular anxiety. It feels like you are physically dying.

There's nothing more aggravating than someone telling a person with anxiety and panic disorder to "relax". If it was that simple this condition wouldn't exist.

Imagine having an anxiety attack and the EMTs show up with a camera crew 😭

Panic attacks are NO JOKE. I remember having my first panic attack and the feeling is unbearable. You have a never-ending sense of impending doom and that you feel as though you're about to die. I feel for these people

It’s sad that family members can’t just stop the drama and yelling and screaming when they can see how badly it affects the person. But no, people just have to make you more upset.

The worst part about having an anxiety attack is after it's over, your body is so fatigued and ready to go to bed...it's like your heart ran marathon trust me I get this all the time😞

As an anxiety sufferer myself, I think a lot of people believe that tough love works across the board. It does not. For me, empathy has always worked best. Having someone tell you that you need to just calm down and you're making things worse is absolutely not beneficial to all people. I don't think they should take that tact. I certainly understand trying to settle someone's nerves, but scolding them is not necessarily the best way to do that. When I've had that done to me, it just makes my anxiety increase because I feel like no one's really listening to me.

For those that have never had a panic/anxiety attack, it literally feels like you're dying. It's no fun I've had them them for the past 15 years, and people think it's a made up disease, when it's not. Mental health issues are a real issue, I feel for each and every one of them. It's a battle each and every day but it will get better I promise. The last truly severe one I had I ended up going for a 50 mile ambulance ride and was finally able to calm down.. anxiety makes your blood pressure go through the roof.

My heart goes out to the young lady that’s experiencing postpartum depression. I had it bad. I wish society took postpartum depression more seriously, it is no joke.

Dude!

"You can actually make yourself have a heart attack from panic and anxiety"

Exactly what she needed to hear from you, the medical professional, in that moment.

Wow.

This actually made me cry. Because I know what panic attacks are like. I get them every single day. Never tell someone with panic disorder to “get it together” or “relax” it’s not that simple. Trust me, those who suffer with this want nothing more than to feel normal, they do not want this attention and to drag their loved ones down, which is why in some cases makes the panic progress worse because they feel they are incapable of snapping back to reality, and the last thing they want to to stress out loved ones. They are aware of the stress and anger they give to loved ones who simply do not understand. This takes over your entire body and mind. It’s not being whiny or whimpy. It’s a serious condition that needs to be taken seriously. That requires psychiatric help. And love and support from those around you helps more that you know.

Seeing him wipe her tears away made me cry, the amount of times I’ve had an anxiety/panic attack having someone there to comfort was always the best feeling. So seeing that just hit a soft spot in me. :, )

Panic attacks are crippling when they have a hold on you. Only those who suffer with it truly understand.

I’ve gone to the hospital with a panic attack, and it literally made my entire body shut down. I blacked out, my blood pressure dropped, I turned pale, I was clammy, sweating, hot, cold, couldn’t hear, couldn’t see. I literally felt like I was dying I was terrified. My heart goes out to these people. I know how this feels and it’s awful

As someone who struggles with Panic attacks almost everyday, this made me feel not alone. Everyone who struggles with anxiety and panic attacks know that you feel like your going to die at that moment and at the end you feel exhausted and your scared for the next one they may come. Praying in Jesus name for all who has depression and anxiety 🙏🏾

I had a massive heart attack at age 35 and then my heart stopped while I was still conscious--I told my husband that my heart stopped (which he didn't believe me because I was still talking) and then everything went black. And yes, everyone thought it was just a panic attack at first because I kept saying I couldn't breathe. Took 40 minutes for them to restart my heart. Let me tell you, every time my heart starts skipping beats, it gives me anxiety. Worst thing ever, not knowing what your heart is going to do next and having no control over it. That young lady has every right to be afraid.
