Wow by far the BEST build video yet to date I’m a diy guy from Hawaii and I just learned why my home built 46re with 48re internals behave the way it does…. I made it everything on the tight side… gonna order a new kit from you and rebuild soon. Thank you 🙏

Heard some shops went back to using the wavy snap ring in the overdrive on 06-07 48re with the Tva motors, because no wavy snap ring can cause a harsh downshift in tow haul. Firepunk guys are the best. Very helpful videos

This is the best 48re video I’ve ever watched. I’m super impressed. I wish you guys were closer to Vegas.

Idk if its working in the oilfield for so long or whst but i always start my trucks up and let them just run for a little bit just to let oil circulate and etc it never hurts to let it run for a few minutes before you jump in and go it really can save the life of stuff

You should try and put every part on the 47re and 48re on yr web site. Those selective spacers and the snap rings on the intermediate shaft are hard to find I would like to buy a few of every size.

It's so awesome that you're using gloves, so that chemicals don't enter your bloodstream through your hands and damage your internal organs.
Smart man!

I just learned a quick hack to installing a trans brake without any effort lol On a side note, would too loose a forward clutch result in a trans not going in lot gear? Recently my home built 47re started doing this thing where you start it, put it into forward gear, and usually nothing happens. If you rev in park or neutral to 3500rpm for a few seconds, it goes into gear fine. Doesn’t happen nearly as often once trans is up to temp. Also it goes fine into reverse all the time.

Great video and thanks for the great information. Now I know why my recently rebuilt trans has drain back and my possible overheating issue. Thanks again.

I'd almost say it would be best to just replace coolers! Stock oe coolers are garbage that have the thermostat in them. The stock oe trans cooler lines are small and tiny. Delete any heater changer, replace the factory oe cooler with a nice mishi motor cooler that's twice at big and twice and thick. Upgrade the trans cooler lines and go with the fleece perf trans cooler line kit! 1/2" flexible high pressure trans lines with AN fittings. Bigger trans cooler lines and a bigger trans cooler is another way to get more fluid capacity! Just between the bigger lines and the bigger cooler that's prolly an extra 2 quarts alone. Bigger pans add an additional 4 quarts.
A secondary cooler mounted up under the bed with fans blowing on it for heavy towing.
