I go to an autotech class and I'm learning about working on vehicles and how they work. I recently bought a manual 95 f250 that has worn synchros. I am going to be working on the transmission in my auto class. This video gives me a good idea on what's going on inside the transmission. I'll let you know how the repair goes when it's done!

Very helpful video sir. Currently studying this in uni and seeing the real stuff rather than an animation (which is very helful as well) is cool. Thank you for sharing

I’ve owned my YJ for 2years now, I learned how to double clutch due to this 😂. But you just answered my question 😂

Messed up my third gear when I blew my clutch and drove home on that scared final trip home. Replaced the clutch but 3rd always grinds, so now I just go straight to fourth. It’s an old Impreza so I guess going 50 in 2nd is still appropriate

Thank you so much for this. I now understand why my trans is grating.

Good video with good explanation of how synchros function. Its worth noting why the synchro failed though.

I got a T45 that has been refurbished. It goes smoothly into reverse but sometimes it’s hard to get to come out. Assuming no issues with the clutch, could this be a shifter issue or an internal issue?😢 5th is smooth, 1-4 I feel there is a slight stop before going in. Maybe it needs more time to break in?

What happens if I don’t get this fixed? My car grinds in 1st gear unless I come to a complete stop and then switch to 1st.

I get that the ring grips due to friction but how does it perfectly line up??? Is that just a demonstration of the ideal? Is it the shape of the teeth that mean that the gear engagement can occur in any position as long as the correct friction is applied?

Very helpful explanation.

I have a question tho.. my 3rd gear pops out whiles driving. What could be the cause and whats the fix?

How does the synchronizer ring teeth line up perfectly with the gears teeth. Wouldn't there be a chance that the synchronizer ring teeth lines up between the gears teeth blocking the sliding clutch from meshing with the gears teeth?
