Every time I watch a transmission rebuild, I realize that I don’t ever want to tear into

Transmissions have always been a real mystery to me, but I am tempted to try rebuilding one myself.

Feel like they are using "low buck" a little loosely.

I remember when shows used to focus on fixing cars and not being one giant commercial for their sponsors. Leave the ads for the commercial break.

I love when they said the parts were cleaned and reused. The literally showed the sun shell which is a must replace in a 4l60e lol.

This video, as well as other videos and parts schematics will be very helpful when I convert my 4wd 4L60E into a 2wd. Of course it will be rebuilt with new components.

Disneyland garage, the 4L60E in my 1999 Astro van blew up and I started to go back down the ramp. Some Disney guys helped push me into a parking space. I got lucky and found a GMC truck service center that had it in stock. The Service guy said it looked like a hand grenade blew up inside it.

Master of his craft.

I'm sitting here like, damn man, i wish i could be that good at something. then I remembered I am, automotive locksmithing. It takes a long long time to get so good at something that you dont have to think about it when you're doing it.

Here is the proper way to fix a 4l60e: Sell it for scrap or core and buy 4l80e and install.

Remember when shows like this used to be about fixing every day cars, tips and tricks and ways to save money?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.

At the rock garage we used to pull them in including the time to Jack them up and put them on jack stands we didn't have lifts we'd have them on the floor in 20 minutes before the front wheel drives started coming out on the bench and rebuilt in an hour and a half or less including sanding all the steels to get a better bite on the clutches
