From the release announcement:
"Cinnamon add-ons are called 'spices'. Until now Cinnamon supported 4 types of spices: Applets: Little programs which can be placed in your panel(s); Desklets: Same thing, but on your desktop; Extensions: Scripts which can alter the way Cinnamon works; Themes: Look and feel for your Cinnamon desktop. Cinnamon 6.0 features a new type of spices: Actions. Actions, formerly known as 'Nemo actions', are add-ons for your file manager's context menu. Right-click an .iso file and look at the context menu. The 'Make bootable USB stick' and 'Verify' menu items are Nemo actions, provided by the mintstick package. In Cinnamon 6.0, actions are now a type of spice. You can download, enable and rate them like any other spices: applets, desklets, extensions and Cinnamon themes."

Linux Mint is an Ubuntu-based distribution whose goal is to provide a classic desktop experience with many convenient, custom tools and optional out-of-the-box multimedia support. It also adds a custom desktop and menus, several unique configuration tools, and a web-based package installation interface. Linux Mint is compatible with Ubuntu software repositories.

Been running Mint on a SFF PC side by side with work laptop for about a year now - it is an absolute pleasure to use, far better, to my mind than W10 or W11. Fast, clean and lets you get on with what you want or need to do without getting in the way at all.

Mint is great!
I used Ubuntu for a while but when its interface started changing (despite not needing to), I jumped ship.
Tried Mint and fell in love - been using it for 7-8 years now.

What exactly does mint have to do with an OS? Can someone explain that to me?

What exactly is so worthy of demonstration about this Linux?

The GUI is another imitation of commercial software. Which some Linux systems have become quite good at. I have to admit that. But this imitation is not even provided with eye-candy and is unpleasantly conservative.

And why is there such a focus on the command line? The expectation of the "Linux community" to familiarize themselves with it is one of the reasons why Linux is so legendarily unsuccessful and why so many shy away from it.
