8:34 "...Linux Mint is a distro that wants to reliably support you in your work." Exactly!

No matter how many other distros and Linux flavours (KDE, Debian, etc) I use, I keep coming back to Mint Debian. It is rock solid and works out of the box. It is easy to grasp for those new to Linux, too.

I agree, I don't want to have to re-learn where everything gets moved to all the time! I'm happy for the interface to stay as similar as possible between versions. I really really really like Linux Mint, so much so I've given up MacOS and Windows 4ever!

I was a Mint lover for years. And then I met LMDE 6.

One concern I have had as I have upgraded is that I use a number of Windows programs under wine. I currently use 21.2. Has anyone used wine yet on 21.3?

Good video, linux Mint 21 is great, LMDE 6 is greater!

The Edge version has the 6.5 kernel (with no other changes) at the moment. I'd love to see a performance comparison.

New background images lol. i wish Linux developers would stop prioritizing themes and stupid wallpapers and call it a release feature and rather work on things that matter like Wayland, better Samba nemo integration, remote desktop that actually works out the box. maybe better integrated dynamic settings that gets loaded such as modules that auto load when you install common software.

A version of Linux Mint that's named after my mom? I have to try it out for that reason alone. I'm already using Victoria on my NTL laptops, so it should be pretty intuitive. I plan to eventually convert all of my Windows 10 PC's that don't support Windows 11 before support for 10 ends next year, so I'm trying out different distros on the laptops to see which one will ultimately be run on the other PC's, which I have tried Mint on, and it works seamlessly on them, including my main PC, which is currently a dual boot system, running Linux Mint Victoria and Windows 11, right now my only question is will my printer play nicely with Linux? All of my other hardware seems to, but I have yet to try linking my printer to any of my Linux based PC's.

Installed Mint 21.3, but apps downloaded and installed by the software manager from flatpak do not launch. Any advice would be appreciated!

*** So..as far as what is actually new for 21.3 over Cinnamon 6.0....I sincerely HOPE cinnamon has become more stable and less crash proned under loads put on Nemo. This has been the ONLY....real...irritating thing for me using LM Cinnamon since late 2010 sometimes. . It's happened less and less with each new cinnamon and nemo versions..but of how fast the hardware is being used with it.

Hi there,
Is this release lighter than the previous (21.2) as I tried to install it months ago and it was working so slowly ...
I have an old notebook (13 years) with AMD 1.7 GHZ integrated grafic card and 4GB ram.
Thanks 🙏
