“I just can't believe how good the staff is here. Every one of them has the same thought and that's to get you better or whoever they are working with better and get them up and running.”

A loved one I lived with had an ischemic stroke and was hospitalized in May (2021)
At some point social service got involved for some odd reason and had the person declared incompetent in June.
The person was transferred to a "Rehabilitation" facility in June and is currently still there.
I went to visit this person and got a visibly cheerful response.
At some point I was told not to visit so often because the person gets emotional when I leave!
People are despicable!
Maybe the "heroes" would have done their job better if my loved one had better "medical coverage", as in MONEY, we would have been treated differently!
Like this guy whose obviously covered medically.
No one being condescending to him or his family and treating him like so much garbage!
The people in the video did what they were paid for!

I also had to regain movement on my entire right side, not from a stroke, but from a brain surgery. So the positive thing is that I knew it was going to happen. So my heart goes out to anyone who is regaining their walking skills, cuz I know both the hard work and the light at end of tunnel. I'll never forget the look of joy on my neurologist's face when we met at the bottom of the steps for the first time after my surgery. 🙂

I had a stroke in 2018 on Superball Sunday. Patriot won.lost my left side. Speech slurry… I had to work my ass off for my speech, and it’s back. My strength has returned tremendously. High reps on the muscles, stretching… understand the less you work those parts back, to life the longer it takes to recover. If you got spasticity. Stretch or get someone to help you stretch, and do mobility exercises. Also talk to your doctor on muscle relaxers and Botox injections if need be. To loosen them tight muscles. If your hand is tightened up. Get electric stimulation from your therapist. Please to anyone reading this. Take your life back from what this stroke done to you. If you can barely move a finger or a toe or an arm. That’s fine. It’s a start. Dude I’m doing from 200-400 rep push up. Bench pressing, even getting back to jogging. Go hard. Don’t give up .. trust me, it may seem nonsense. Or not working. It is . And I had people give up on me

Everything's is in slow motion is the best way to describe it. My stroke was by my brain stem. Its like a very bad hangover but you weren't drinking.

Watching this video gave me a lot of hope for my father. He is currently in the hospital far away from me and I can’t even go outside of state to visit him due to COVID-19. But with hope and god’s help he will get through this.
