I think leaving out the Westchester incident was brilliant, because it would've revealed way too much. Leaving it out definitely makes the watcher interested and try to piece together what the world is like now. The movie also does a great job at gradually giving away clues to piece together what happened to get a raw picture of what happened as the movie progresses.
It's unfortunate that we'll never see on screen what exactly happened but I also think not seeing that event on screen makes gives it even more tragic. It's for everyone to speculate now how that event went down.

I love the way they did this. It means that initially we don't know what's happening. When Charles doesn't remember he utter's the line, something along the lines of, "Logan, What did you do?", for people who know the Old Man Logan comic you initially assume that this all happened somewhat the way it did in that comic, but then we later get a payoff with the twist that it was actually Charles - really works well. I'm glad that they didn't include the scene, even later as a flashback as I think it would have been too distracting from the Laura story

This movie should've had flashbacks while Prof. X was having seizures, with all neighboring X-Men dead beside him. I mean, it's cool and all to hint and tease about the plot, but it helps with the flow of the story, even for those who've read the comics. Besides that, Logan was badass for all the scenes with his claws out, ammiright??

Anyways I always think that Charles wanted to meet the children that escaped so he could see young mutants one more time and teach them how to control their powers like he was a teacher again because that was probably where he was happiest

During this video, i theorized that cerebro (the machine professor x uses to find mutants) is somehow involved in the westchester incident. Think about it. It makes more sense if cerebro overpowered Charles head during his seizure (maybe his first seizure?) Forcing his powers to be spread so far throughout all of westchester and killing those that may have been trying to stop it or those that were closest to him (physically, i mean). Thoughts on this theory are always appreciated!

Once i realized what happened while watching this movie i felt heartbroken. Charles xavier the one who looked at these people as his students, his children, his team only for him to be unwillingly responsible for their deaths all due to him having some sort of degenerative brain disease. Logan trying his best to keep this heartbreaking information from him, to protect his father/mentor. Truly a heartbreaking story, but also a story with a hopeful ending with potiential mutants who can take up the mantle of the x-men again and be the heroes the world will inevitably need in the future.

I think the fact that they didn't include a flashback scene just added more suspense to my experience. It was a sort of mystery to me and several different clues indicated that it was Charles' seizure that killed all the X-Men. I think if they added a flashback it would have taken the mystery of that underlying story and it would not have given the movie viewers their own imagination of how it all happened.

wait in days of future past when hank says that they might not be able to change the future caise of the river always flowing in the same direction does this mean that charles killing the x men is a result of wolverine stopping the sentinels as the x men still need to die for the river to carry on flowing
