First season was so bonkers, i couldnt resist when i was 7. Its one of the best 90s shows, pushing equality, acceptance, and bravery. Add in early multiverse timelines and intriguing social issues and its one of the best positive messages you can have as a kid. Ill be watching '97 with a measured response.

Growing up with thia as my standard for X-men left me VERY confused by how much love the first two movies got. No team battles, none of what made the cartoon so sprawling and engaging. It seriously wasn't until Avengers that I felt a superhero movie met the standard set by this cartoon.

Rewatching this cartoon gives you a real appreciation for Cal Dodd, the voice actor for Wolverine. He managed to get out some truly heinous one-liners without compromising the menacing vibe of the character... much.

used to hurry home from middle and high school to watch weekly episodes of this when you recap it all so fast its crazy impressive how many GREAT storylines there were. Like one after another. The voice acting is so perfect. Wolverine being the most iconic.
