Actually. If you look at any other old scenes with Rogue from the original series. It't the same size profile as the new one. Just that one scene vantage point enhanced them cakes for that shot.

She's not flat. If you check the frame where she pops into view when Cyclops says "to me, my X-Men" you can see them popping out from her horizontal position. They simply forgot to draw her in that one specific frame. The X-Men 90s show did this as well sometimes. It's a common animation error
