Being the nerd I am, if I found a genuine treasure that possibly had significant scientific or historical value, I’d immediately contact the proper authorities to keep the items from being destroyed or damaged by those with more selfish motives…. The amount of lost history that has been destroyed by ignorant people who just want to cash in their finds and have no concern for the value to human history or science is astounding…
The library at Alexandria is a good example… though I don’t think it contained any magical or supernatural knowledge in its scrolls or manuscripts, but it surely did contain priceless written accounts of life in ancient times.
