Hurricane Helene kills one person in Tampa: Highway sign falls on top of car | LiveNOW from FOX

A deadly crash was reported in the westbound lanes of I-4 as Hurricane Helene continued bringing severe weather to Tampa Thursday evening.

Traffic cameras in the area show one of the highway signs on top of a vehicle in that area.

The Florida Highway Patrol said this was a deadly crash on the highway, but have not said how many deaths were related to the crash or if anyone else was injured.

Impossible to sympathize with anyone who willingly chooses not to evacuate. They have said, under no uncertain terms, that the storm is not survivable. It selfishly puts first responders at a greater risk and is wasting valuable, costly resources.

OK, so you’re all saying that they knew it was coming but you don’t live in Florida you don’t know how hard it is to abandon all your things and leave your house. It would take a lot of work to get all of your possessions with you.
