Two-state solution looking bleak for Palestinians

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is due to visit Paris, where delegations from more than 70 countries are expected to urge Israel and the Palestinians to officially re-state their commitment to the two-state solution on Sunday.

But as Israeli settlements continue to expand in the occupied territories, just how likely is a viable Palestinian state in the near future?

Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from the occupied West Bank.

A two state solution is only possible if Israel leaves the occupied territories, all settlements are illegal under international law. Israel has strategically been building settlements and restricting Palestinians movement in order to effectively dissect the west bank which ensures there are no logical boundaries that would enable two states.

A one state is the solution, but people must leave religions (paranormal beliefs based on ancient texts written by ordinary and creative people), and the new state, which should be called Palestine, must embrace the most effective type of government: democratic socialism. Religions do nothing but divide.
