While doom and gloom is always predicted, you’re likely to be more affected by decreasing application and vendor support than you are by malware specifically targeting Windows 10 vulnerabilities. Making sure you have good security software and backups is key to continuing to use Windows 10 if you choose (like it is now).

Didn't Microsoft promise that after introducting Windows 10, we would never need to upgrade Windows again? And now here comes Windows 11. Well, I'm still using Windows 8.1, and seriously considering going back to reinstalling Windows XP, which I really liked.

I have been saying this all along, heck I still have a functional 98SE, XP & Vista systems. The really old 286 and 386 systems I once had finally bit the dust about 7 years ago.

I just don't Ever use them online connected to the internet for security reasons. If a driver or something else is required then I download to thumb drive or disk from another computer, then install it to the older system. Easy!

I kept them mainly for certain software applications that I liked, plus for my old flight Sim. And yes I still used a dot matrix printer to which would not work with 10.

i'm mostly a PC Gamer and just youtube watcher on my PC. I use Windows 10 Pro free version have down a cracked CD Key.
I just today learned about the Windows 10 stopped begin supported in 2025, So I just downloaded Windows 11 on an USB flashdrive, and just gonna have it as a back up if i need to reinstall Windows but gonna use Windows 10 as long as possible i guess.

Well when windows 10 has EOL Microsft better ease up with only supporting newer PCs because alot of people do have older office PCs that still have life in them like I have.

I am running Windows 7, when searching the internet all I get is messages that say, " your browser is no longer supported" So I know I can use my computer offline forever but no longer able to use the internet.

Is there a way to update your browser in Windows 7. When you no longer can get updates. Thanks Leo.

I am using Windows-7 only. It is the most hassle free of all Windows and I do my work on it and not maintaining the OS all the time.

I've got Surface Pro 5, running Windows 10 and Microsoft declined the upgrade to Windows 11 as it failed one category, the processor!
256 Gb HD internal - passed 💯
8 GB RAM - passed 👍
TMP - passed 😀
i5 7300U - failed 😢
Don't know why. Has anyone attempted to upgrade and succeeded with similar build?
Leo any idea what's the solution in the future. OK for now but nice to have W11.

Just as an addendum to this.... just do NOT store critical data on you PC (home users, obviously). When it says "Store password?" etc.. No... My Experience? Ran Win Xp, 7, 10 for years without incident. Installed Win 11. Hack within days. Going back to 10 and waiting for Win 11 to be fixed.

I can see them having continuing paid support for businesses that have a large number of PCs that can't be upgraded. They won't want to lose those customers to the likes of RHEL.
