Everybody wants to leave CA because of crime, homelessness, high taxes, policies etc But what they forget to take in consideration is the CA weather. I know several people trying to move back to CA because they hate the weather in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas but theyre being priced out of the CA market. I will never leave CA, I’m a cali girl through and through❤

Just moved to TX from CA and overall there is a difference. No state tax, cheaper car registration, groceries, gas and utilities makes a big difference. Was also able to afford a nice home in a safe neighborhood.

I was struggling in california. So I visited texas for two weeks and it made me realize why its more expensive in california. I honestly didnt see the big deal with texas. Yes everything was cheaper but... I didn't like it man. It was boring af. It honestly inspired me to get a better job in california. So I haven't left california. Despite the fact people keep begging me to go there, it just wasn't as I imagined. And to be honest texas is only good for business owners. As a worker its terrible. California has the beach too. Thats enough for me.

Very refreshing to hear people from California are going back to find happiness. God Bless you and the best of luck on your way back.

I regret moving from San Diego to Dallas. At least tinsel town is transparent in its fakeness. Here you get lured in by how people say “ma’am”
and “sir, ” but they gossip like crazy! The gas is cheaper, but every road is a toll road! They don’t clean the apartments here before you move in. It’s SO HOT in the summer that it feels like being in lockdown during the pandemic. The food sucks. Every community is incorporated, so I still don’t even know if I’m even in Dallas, but airplanes are always flying over—no matter where you are! I thought I’d be able to handle the weather because I grew up in Northern CA, but OMG, it stays in the hundreds even at 11 PM at night! It’s so ugly. One type of tree. Concrete. More wasps than you could ever imagine. I spent $10k to move here after two years of researching and visiting each season, but it’s different once you’re here. I’m still living paycheck to paycheck because they have hidden fees on everything! There are some pretty subdivisions with a very storybook feel, but if you’re an ocean person and like being able to drive to the mountains, the dessert, the ocean, the lake—stay in California! I left cuz I felt like I was being priced out of my own state only to find that it’s just as expensive here. Yes, there are some more affordable homes if you don’t mind living in the country and waiting for a train to go by for an hour; otherwise, the houses are in the millions here just like in CA. In SD, I could leave my sliding glass door open all day and not worry about bugs or heat. Here my cats and I are suffocating inside. The theaters are run down. It just is not what I expected of a metropolitan city. I want to go home!!! 😢

Honestly who in the world told you that the weather in Texas is the same as California. Did you never visit there before moving there? Hmmmm. I do agree with everything you said, I went to college outside of Dallas, it's miserable, we printed t-shirts that said: we survived the triple 100s, 100 days of 100 degrees and 100% humidity. I live in California and wouldn't move to many states not even for free. We pay for our weather. Cheers.

I lived in Dallas now for 3 years, and friends for me has been the same issue, acquaintance is something that is so easy to find, but finding meaningful close friends is almost impossible, I have found some people here that can consider my friends, but for every one person I can call a friend, I had to sort through so many to find just one, I am also considering relocating in the near future, thanks for the input, I now feel I am not alone in feeling that way

Moved from Bay Area to MT 2016, moved to East TX June 2022. I’m in process moving back to Cali.
Nowhere to go, nothing to do, no good restaurants, no healthy grocery stores, no variety, lots of ppl that con you and lie to your face with a smile. It’s completely different culture.
They live on family property typically in a double wide. They typically have never left the state much less the country. They have zero culture.

you really summarize the same thoughts as me. I moved from SF to austin. After 4 years in Austin, I still do not like it here. Moving back to bay area in a year or 2.

Texas is NOT cheaper than California, move there and find out.

Absolutely agree. I’m sure Texans will appreciate some California folks moving back to California. Originally from Texas but moving back after 13 years in California, I couldn’t handle the humidity anymore. But Texans ( mostly) are some of the friendliest people so I’ll definitely miss that.

Regarding insects- when a tarantula crawled out from under my bed, I was done lol

Enjoyed this video. I have lived in both places and agree with most everything you said. Houston is actually a better comparison with LA because it's bigger with more traffic and crime. I find the people in California much more welcoming and happy in general. Just look at some of the comments below from Texans. They always have to bring up politics and religion. Many angry and unhappy people in Texas yet they say they love it.

Texas discriminates against others moving to Texas. Especially Californians

I considered moving to Texas but I like being near the Ocean. I'm in San Diego 15 minutes to the Airport, 20 minutes to most beaches. I just can't give that up. The house I bought also increased in value 65% after purchasing it 7 years ago. I like to watch these videos to confirm my reasons to stay.

Texans are very judgmental. Californians are not. Watch German in Venice.

You made the right choice! I was considering Texas last year so I made a trip out there and ended up leaving earlier because of the heat ! California has everything you need to thrive and be happy (Ambitious people, diverse people and food, mountains, snow, sun and ocean) You pay for what you get :D

I love these comments are true. When I moved to Huston back in April this year. I just loved back to IL. The humidity was terrible. Also the people are nice but they don’t wana be ur friend. Also I tried to find s job wasn’t able. The road flood when it rains. It’s all crazy. Texas also has no culture. They have nothing to do in their suburbs I was so depressed their. Very depressed. So I had to leave

Left Addison TX about 2 years ago, and everyone said CA was so expensive. Home was somewhat more expensive but do not pay for cooling, heat, and now I just bike in SLO. Saved so much money with health care too. Weather and nature are great here. Couldn't take the weird weather with tornados, hail, and opressive heat.

Texas is EXTREMELY hot. Worse, along the Coast the mosquitoes are murder. If the heat does not get you, the mosquitoes will. Crime in Texas big cities (Dallas, SA, Austin, and Houston) is out of control. Property taxes are VERY high. However, people are nice and the economy is great, but there are pros and cons to Texas.
