WHY DID JESUS SAY TO FORGIVE 70 TIMES 7?
Показать описание
Have you ever wondered why Jesus said to forgive someone 70 times 7? Peter asked Jesus – “how many times should I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Until 7 times?”
• Why did Peter even ask the question in the first place?
• Was he angry at someone?
• Was Peter keeping a list of wrongs committed?
• Did Jesus just say something shocking which prompted Peter to ask the question?
Looking at Jesus’ response to forgive 70 x 7:
• Was it just some random number Jesus picked out?
• Was Jesus just trying to come up with a big number?
• Why not use numbers like 1,000 times or 10,000 times?
• What’s so significant about 70 and 7 when it comes to dealing with retribution, retaliation, and forgiveness?
In this video, I’ll show you why I believe Jesus picked the specific numbers and the equation also.
To do this, we will first examine what Jesus said which prompted the question in the first place in regards to disputes, disagreements, arguments and trespasses.
Then we’ll dig into some Biblical history going all the way back into the book of Genesis to when things were first getting started. We will examine the mindset and cultural bias that came with the law of retribution and justice and how Jesus was trying to address it.
I think this video will be a blessing to you and show you the importance of forgiveness.
God bless,
Theo Heartsill
