Today I share details on what is happening to Subaru inventory in February 2024. Throughout the last few years, Subaru inventory has been limited, making it difficult to purchase one. Has inventory finally caught up with demand? Can you get a discount on a new Subaru in 2024? I answer these questions and more in todays video.

As always, if you have any questions, leave them in the comment section below. Thank you for watching!

The truth is Subaru, Toyota, and others made more expensive models and less of the base models. The cheaper the model, the quicker they get sold. The more expensive the model, the longer it sits on the lot. The manufacturers are sitting on a bunch of expensive cars that few people are interested in.

Prices have risen a lot per model as well, not just interest rates. Companies are now charging crazy prices for vehicles (not just Subaru) and people can't afford it.

The "truth" is, you forgot to mention price. A 5%-10% discount on a vehicle that is overpriced by 30% is why people are waiting to purchase new autos. The consumer automotive price index is still at parabolic levels and a sizeable return to the mean is the next move. I'd say, take a look at the discounts around June/July to gauge whether to purchase a new auto. Get more of them bigger discounts going and then you will see the purchases you would like to see. Pro tip for those looking to buy now... Look for autos that have been on the lot for several months. Deals can be made on those that have been sitting around a while.

Bought 2016 Legacy new, i now have driven 242, 000 km with regular oil changes, brake work and a few small repairs, hopefully it will get me through another couple of Year’s of comfortable driving.

I literally just bought a 2024 crosstrek premium in November - (I was able to pay cash so maybe that helped) but the model I wanted with the extras I ordered took an extra 6 weeks to get here from Japan. I paid a but over 31k
Absolutely love my crosstrek!

I ordered a 2024 Forester Premium (with added options)on October 26th 2023. There were no Forester's on the or 2024. I received the 2024 December 6th 2023. Of course I had to pay full not over MSRP. I paid cash, plus had a trade-in. The color I wanted was Ice Silver Metallic. The dealership attempted to find a 23 or 24 Forester in that color, but none in the pipeline. I did find it strange....the trade-in value was $2000.00 less for the 2024 Forester vs the 2023. So I'm glad I got the 2024 vs. waiting for the 2025. Overall I really enjoy the 2024 Forester. Great vehicle!!

My luck is bad last summer my truck finally died on me after 25 years and i was desperate and wanted to buy outright. Planned on getting a Toyota because of good reputation and longevity. Once i found out it would cost me in the 40's i said lets check out Subaru Foresters. Shocked to see only a handful of the higher priced vehicles on most dealership lots. Bottom line i settled for a premium Subaru Forester for one reason only because it would arrive in 4 days. I paid alittle under the sticker which i never did years ago it would be thousands less but different times i guess. Just disappointed with interest rates higher there are finally cars on dealership lots. I probably could have saved st least a grand if i bought a Forester this month. Oh well thats life. Side note car seems pretty nice after 1, 800 miles a big change since i never bought a new car before only new pickups in the past 40 years.

Just bought an outback onyx last week. I got it for 35400. I think the MSRP was 38 something . I sold my Ranger private sale for 32K and paid the difference. Pretty happy.

It all depends on the model. I’ve been looking at the crosstrek with the 2.5. I find plenty of 2.0 models on the lot that they are willing to wiggle on. Anything with the 2.5 they are sitting on and holding at msrp. 5 to 1 are the 2.0 on the lot.
The wilderness model you will be lucky to pick and choose anything you are looking for. All at msrp or in transit. It’s still a supply and demand market and Subaru knows how to play it.

Does any Subaru dealer give the guaranteed trade-in value that My Subaru app shows? I tried to buy a 2024 Outback Touring XT and trade-in in my 2017 Subaru Forester Touring with 132k miles. My Subaru app says $13, 500 but the dealer said 10k. The dealer gave a ton of reasons why the My Subaru est is a perfect world. I am going file a complaint with Subaru corporate, their trade-in value is misleading.

It took me eight months to get my 2023 M/T Crosstrek convenience last year, and almost didn’t, as mine was one of the last to enter Canada…. Love it! Now I’m honestly seeing more 2024s on the road than 2nd Gen, so Subaru has certainly ramped up production with the US plant, they are everywhere…🏇🏾

Can we go to a system where we order from the factory exactly what options we want?

What is the change that has been made in the Forester sheet metal? Has Subaru switched from steel to aluminum?

The black cladding on the front of the outback is part of the reason why they are not selling!

Colorado here. Bought our 24 OB Touring XT last month for 1.9 at 48mo and got $4, 500 off MSRP. Love the beard!

Three of the four automobiles I've had since 1982 (yupp, four in 42 years !?) have been Subarus.
Last two have been Forester's, and yes, I would buy a Forester Sport the day my current Forester dies (142k miles, and going strong) . . .
IF there is supply and IF the price is close-to-"reasonable".

What about ‘the forgotten one’ - the Legacy? You actually stood next to one at the start of the video so it’s not discontinued yet 😮 Hope it’s still going if I get to emigrate to Canada in the next year or so…🇨🇦
It appears to be the black sheep of the family as it’s not a soft-roader / SUV 😳

We just purchased a 2024 Onyx XT Edition over the weekend. We took advantage of the 1.9% financing and accepted 11% below MSRP on the model we wanted. I did a consumer report on the vehicle after test driving one at the dealership when I got home. I was wondering if the dealership is informed of the query and then sends out email offers based on the query. The offers from the dealership had the CR logo on them. I found it interesting that the offers from the dealership had that CR logo on the top of the report.

Just got a great price on a new '24 Outback Limited XT and took advantage of the 1.9% rates, it's a crazy good deal considering high-yield savings accounts are around 4.5%! Love the turbo even with babying it during the break-in period.
