You forgot to mention that in addition to gas, Russia supplies such resources:

Palladium: 40%, modern electronics cannot exist without it.
Nickel: 10%, Aluminum 8%, Oil 12.7%, Wheat 9.7% and much more.

So I will say this, Russia in the modern world is able to live without you the west. But whether you can exist without our resources is very doubtful.

Atomic energy needs urenium. World depends on Russian urenium supply. 20% of urenium come from Russia for US needs. Already power house of US alarm to the government for power crisis.
So sanction fireback to western economy 100 times more than Russia.
