Word of warning, using the same starter over and over can lead to stringy yoghurt. Should taste fine but the texture gets a little weird. If this happens then you may need a fresh starter.
Additionally using the same starter over and over can lead to bacteriophage infecting your starter, this will initially slow it down item terms of yoghurt production but will more than likely kill your starter over time. This can be combatted by keeping thing s as clean as possible and replace with by your starter with a different type/brand as the generic makeup of the bacteria will be slightly different, meaning it should be resistant to any phage you may have.

Or you can just put some yogurt in some warm milk and let it set for a while night and you'll have some really good yogurt this how we do it in India hope this helps!!!

I started doing this and just put some of the yogurt in an ice cube tray so i have starters from the first/second batch for months.

I recommend bulgarian yogurt bc that is the original and first producer of yogurt

Let it set out overnight and somewhere warm? I'm not so sure about boiling milk and yogurt without a precise temperature and time

Does anyone know if freezing a starter for the next batch will affect the outcome, such as texture, taste, etc? Thank you!

What do you do if you don't have an oven (or instapot) to leave it overnight tho? I wanna try this but we don't have an oven.

How would you get a thicker yogurt, like Greek or skyr?

Bruh this is not a glitch or hack. This is how yogurt or curd is always made.

For us, from Turkey this is a failed yogurt, sorry!! Our homemade yogurt are more solid. If its to liquidy its a fail. We first boil the milk. Let it cool down a bit and then add the starter. Leave it over night under a cover and put it in the fridge the next day. And eat it after you waited another day. You" ll have a really tasty yogurt then.

is it cheaper to keep buying full fat pasteurized milk to use to make the yogurt, instead of just buying yogurt from the store?
