I LOVE your taste!! This video had every single book I had on my to-read list. So good to see people in media talk about more then Colleen Hoover.

Something about you saying you threw up made me wanna read it 🥲like I don’t wanna throw up but I wanna know why you did lmao

16:20 i LOVE pet sematary because the writing just so clearly expresses the futility of it all and the inevitability of it all. the scene where his wife is struggling to come back home because she KNOWS that something is wrong but can't gives me goosebumps!!

The audiobook for Pet Sematary is phenomenal!!! Michael C. Hall is extremely talented!

I’ve never read a horror book but I’m intrigued. Do you have any recommendations/could you make a video on books to ease into the genre? I don’t wanna start off too crazy 😂

Just getting into the horror genre and trying to navigate what I like and don’t like so these lists are so helpful! I’ve definitely learned I don’t like body horror 😂

I’m not a Horror fan but I do enjoy an excellent psychological thriller with twist or turn/mystery. Looking forward to that video Hailey 🤩

I am late to this video, but very cool choices and I appreciate the expansive idea of the Horror genre. I'm gonna check out that Marisha Pessl book... I liked her debut (?) "Special Topics in Calamity Physics", but, for some reason, I never picked up "Night Film". And, although it's not exactly Horror, I highly recommend Jeff Vandermeer's weird, unsettling "Southern Reach Trilogy". It's a TRIP.

I own Ruins I will eventually read it after I am done with the Grant County series by Karin Slaughter. I also loved Carrie and My Best Friends exorcism.

Invisible Monsters is one of my favorites and I didn’t know there was a Remix. So weird how we experienced the same story so differently, in a very cool way

You might try reading some Aron Beauregard books. I recommend yellow, or the slob. It is splatterpunk and obviously pretty extreme. Hope you like it!

Great choices.

I’ve read Carrie multiple times and it makes me extremely emotional every time. Being a socially awkward outcast raised in a terrible environment and subjected to constant bullying can make this book hit really close to home.

Pet Semetery is one of King’s most hard hitting horror thrillers. I can imagine it hits even harder for fathers who have lost a child or have a fear of losing a child.

The Ruins I didn’t care for. I thought it had a cool villain and interesting concepts but I hated all the characters lol.

Best Friend’s Exorcism is cheesy but in a great way. It’s campy, heartwarming 80’s horror and filled with wonderful nostalgia. Loved the ending.

I haven’t read the other ones but they’re all on my tbr (:

The ruins is my favorite book ever. I own a paperback copy I found at a goodwill, on audio book and a signed copy.

Have you read "The Black Farm" by Elias Witherow? That one is pretty intense too! I def recommend!

Sadly the only copy of survivor I can find is $298😢😢😢 I wish I could read it

I just bought Brother 😀 I also reread Pet Sematary last month and it was just as great the second time around. Probably even more effective this time around now that I am a parent 😉 I don't think I could stomach either The Ruins or Survivor. My BF Exorcism is great! I liked the book club vampire one a tiny bit more however and I can't wait to dive into How to Sell a Haunted House!

One of favorite horror books I read this year was The Clown in the Cornfield.

nuh uh how tf did you know about the lost tapes thing. I feel like you were somehow there in those late nights while I strained my eyes looking at a glowing screen watching a lady on aboat or the chruch with an owl man. unlocked memories I forgot I had, man
