OMG you just saved me hours of work. Who knew you can make zero clearance throat table saw inserts with FREAKING TAPE???!!!??? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Also your other tips are awesome too, but this one right here... I'm never making new inserts again!

When you set your table saw's scale, just be sure to account for parallax error - always look at the line straight on. Exceptional video. Thank you.

I always set the scale with a tape measure but the known board-size method is way better. Thanks!

It is not true that screwing a board to both miter gauges will square them up. If the board is straight, it will make their faces coplanar. But that will not make them square to the miter slots or the blade.

You don't really need to go through the effort of building a special jig for cutting thin material. Simply clamp a straight board with a straight edge to the fence (like you would to make a sacraficial fence) so that it closes any gap between the fence and the table.

If you're looking to get the table saw scale adjusted just right, make a cut through a board, measure the resulting width, and adjust the scale accordingly.
