Is V-Shred Just One Big Scam?

This week I received multiple requests to make a video on V-Shred.

"V-Shred is lying and people still buy it!"
"V-Shred are a scam"
etc

So I looked into some customer reviews on platforms like Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau, to look at complaints lodged against V-Shred and their overall review score.

I also watched some of their adverts discussing things like "hormonal misfiring", "metabolic confusion" and "broken metabolism".

It is quite hard to dispute their content with science, because their content itself isn't really about science. V-Shred very rarely discusses actual scientific studies and when they do, they just say things like "a study published in 2013", they don't actually cite papers or go into detail.

So instead of discussing science with V-Shred, I thought I would discuss marketing.

However, if any of you actually want to talk about the science of what they are discussing (in this particular advert I used, it ended up just being calorie cycling and V-Shred only briefly mentioned an old, more favourable research paper. They didn't acknowledge any studies that discussed why calorie cycling probably isn't a surefire way to get results when everything else fails).

Any questions? Ask away!

Usually when someone is telling me that today is the only day I can purchase something at discounted rate, I immediately suspect a scam

What a relief! I got so sick of the commercials just going on and on and never explaining anything. I also felt weird when the guy said that he’d never have a salad. He called it rabbit food. Seriously?! You need veggies, at least in the long term. Thanks for posting this 🙌🏻

Rule number 1 to prevent scams on the internet: If something is too good to be true, it’s because IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

I'm glad I decided to research this a little, and I'm glad I found your channel, Ben. I'm getting to the point of feeling pretty desperate. I just finished watching their ad and was pretty close to pulling the trigger (out of desperation). Thankfully my brain kicked in and said, "Maybe look a little deeper before parting with money." But I did want to comment on at least one reason people are willing to take a chance on something like this.

I'm 60 years old and heavier than I've ever been in my life. I have plantar fasciitis and stand on a concrete floor all day. I've recently begun having knee problems. Because of my age and work environment, I thought that maybe I might need a knee replacement, or at least some kind of surgery. Then I thought that maybe I could put it off a little if I take some of the stress off my feet and knees (ie. lose weight). Who knows, maybe that's the entire problem and I don't need knee surgery at all.

So, with that I watched the V Shred video and got some measure of hope back - let's face it, he says all the right things that desperate people want to hear. I personally know people that go to the gym frequently and have not lost any substantial weight. I myself have done that. Also, I've changed my food intake (combined with exercise) and was successful in losing a few pounds - even 20 or so pounds - but as soon as I slack up even a little it comes back and with even more weight (like I said, I weigh more than I ever have, and this after one of the above-described episodes). So, hearing that there might be some "secret" or "what nobody talks about" way is appealing. I mean, what if it's just the sequence of events that I'm messing up, and if I simply make some minor tweaks to what I'm doing, I'll find success. This is VERY enticing.

Anyway, I'm not going to fall for it, but I did want to share with you how desperate some people can get and therefore are willing to believe almost anything.

Peace.

Good lord 🙄. Scams abound.
1. Get your thyroid tested.
2. Get your hormones tested.
3. Realize if you’ve eaten anything close to the standard American diet, that you may have some insulin resistance.
4. Common fungus overgrowth in the gut will affect everything else.
5. Fix that and it’s the old fashioned solution of good diet and exercise.
Great review with humor :)

I am not overweight but I was looking to get into this program so that I could tone and build muscle. I just had some thing in the back of my head telling me …let me just check this out first. So YOU just saved me cash and time. Thank you a million! Time to do it the good old fashion way, and hit the gym❤️

Lmao!!! This is the BEST video! I loathe V-shred and having been in the fitness industry and supplement industry for over 20 years, I knew immediately V-shred is complete trash and I truly appreciate people who make videos like these calling them out! There is no easy shortcut for health and a good body or anything that's worth it for that matter. NOTHING replaces a proper "diet" (which should be a lifestyle) and exercise. Both have enormous benefits but do require hard work and dedication. Period. Thank you for the awesome video!
P.S. - PLEASE Jake, put on a damn shirt! So sick of his stupid ads!

Hands up. I admit it. I fell for their bullshit. But after 2 days of then being inundated with masses of emails, all of which funnily led to overlong adverts for more scam 'supplements' to buy, I soon wised up. I feel better having got that off my chest.

I’m happy I did my research! I watched those 1 hr adds and took notes… and then started googling results and reviews and saw how bad it really is. I might as well get a personal trainer and/or get weight loss surgery

My father in law died on Christmas from a stroke and pneumonia. While in the hospice I became so depressed as the place has an air of sadness and death. Everyone waiting to die while their families (if they had any) celebrated. I need to get my weight under control before I end up like them.

I am thankful for this video exposing VShred, and really all the other groups like them. So many "we have the secret to weight loss" videos have been in my FB feed lately.

I supposed I don't need any of them as just watching what I eat and moving as much as I can is really all I need to do. There are lots of YT vids about "chair exercises" where you exercise while seated. And I have a calorie counter on my phone so I can track what I eat.

Maybe I need to sell that secret to people, LOL

First of all I didn't buy anything but I did watch some of the free videos. Vince Sant did make some sense regarding the HIIT exercises. HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING. That's all legit. Great great way to exercise. I've been doing it for years I'm 5'10 180 lb. The best way to lose weight and get in shape, is to burn more calories than you're taking in. When it comes to eating, cut back on your portions. Avoid sweets. Try to eat as healthy as you can, and exercise. Plain and simple. I know everybody is different, but that's basically it, in a nutshell.

Can we appreciate how this man doing their sales pitches says he doesn't go the gym, but his shoulders look as if he lifts at least 3 times a day... Man got those ROUND shoulders.

One thing he is not wrong about is, hormones do majorly affect your ability to maintain, gain or lose weight. Although, he is not explaining it in detail. In order to manage your hormones, you will need to see either a rheumatologist or an endocrinologist. If your thyroid is not functioning properly, managing weight can feel close to impossible, or just flat out dangerous. Someone who has a thyroid autoimmune disease and/or a thyroid imbalance should consult a endocrinologist in order to come up with a "game plan" of how to better their health and possibly gain or lose weight.

I almost got sucked into this because I wanted to tone up a bit. But something in the back of my mind said do a quick search on this company. You popped up straight away. Thank you for the honest review. These types of adds should be banned! Such a scam just as I thought. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Cheers,

Thanks for this video Ben this company is what's wrong with the world. I'm diagnosed with an Eating Disorder and these videos were one of the causes. These videos also made me feel discouraged to do any cardio because I would gain weight. I'm sick of people feeling discouraged to do any physical activity because some shredded dude or woman said you shouldn't. I am sorry about the rant I have been working on building muscle and helping myself mentally. Anyone who's reading this just know that you can do this. Just moving and getting out is the best thing to do.

Almost fell for it. I'm glad I found your video by researching before buying in. If it's too good to be true, it most likely is. I'll just stick to formulating my own plan and researching expert findings and advice.

I actually fell for it and did the quiz. The video isn’t tailored like it says it is. What they do in every video is put off the thing they’re gonna tell you in just a minute, before going off tangent so you forget about it until he reminds you again lol

I'm slim and I find it hard to gain muscle. I almost get this program but as usual I'm very skeptical about things that seem too good to be true. I found this video and immediately felt relieved I didn't spend my hard earned money. I'll keep working out at my pace and eating healthy. Thank you so much for helping people and I hope you reach many more !
