Using Windows XP in 2024 ~ This OS changed the game in 2001...

Well, I don't need to say anything excluding "one of the greatest OSes ever" to describe Windows XP, which released in October 2001 to high praise. This was the first release of Windows NT for consumers, and also the first time Microsoft released an OS that combined home and office usage. It brought MANY, MANY new features to the table, such as the welcome screen, custom themes (note that you may need to patch some DLLs first on some releases to get this to work, apart from Microsoft-published themes such as the default Luna theme), a more user-friendly interface, and you can play 16-bit games on it (or, some 16-bit games, such as the Microsoft/Windows Entertainment Pack released in the early 1990's).

Some features would also return from Windows ME, and many features got improvements or upgrades, for example, the text-to-speech system commanded by Microsoft Sam would get an "upgrade", however Microsoft Sam is more buggy in this version. It's still incredibly iconic, and I can't believe I forgot it.

And in this video you're about to see that I had a little bit TOO much fun editing, I'm going to use Windows XP in 2024, providing a demo of Windows XP, including its stock programs, games, settings, and more! Now please apologize, as I did miss a number of features, namely screensavers, Windows Messenger, and the text-to-speech settings.

I think windows went downhill after xp, we had the disaster of vista then they "win7 apology edition" then the "win8 we are going to force full screen start menus on people etc" its like they are trying to desperately fight to stay relevant by jamming so many features into it that no one will even use. I just want to use windows and not trip over all the wires and useless features they add.

Long ago I used pentium D 3ghz + geforce 9500gt. Multiboot with xp, vista, 7 and couple of Linux distros. Used 4 hard disks 😅

Great memories with that XP system I have. As a kid I had it in my moms home, it had Zuma Deluxe, Sega 843 in 1 games, 3D Pinball, etc.

my first windows was 3.11 back in 1994 than windows nt4 from 1997-2002 than windows 2000 from 2002-2009 and since the end of 2009 til today i use daily windows xp
