In other words: That photo taken in 1996 by a guy basically just driving by a pretty grassy hill, who decided to stop and shoot it by chance, was very much the embodiment of figuratively catching a lighting in a bottle, as the saying goes.

He forgot to mention that the photo was so green because it was probably taken during the rainy season. Yes the specific film helped but the seasons/weather played a role as well.

Velvia really is amazing. Perhaps my favorite film. Tricky to shoot but truly amazing results. Unfortunately Fujifilm has been winding down production of film so much over the last few years. Sales of Velvia 100 were already banned in the US due to EPA regulations. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see Velvia 50 on the chopping block soon too. You already practically can’t buy it because it’s totally out of stock everywhere, supplies are already practically nonexistent. I may never shoot my favorite film again :(
