OFFICIAL CANON EOS R Mirrorless Camera PREVIEW | Not Ready For PRIME TIME?

This is a PREVIEW of the Canon EOS R Camera and RF Lenses. Canon released one new full frame mirrorless body with a promise of more to come. They released four new lenses including a 28-70mm f2. Over the next few days we will get to use the camera on various shoots and will bring you a hands on preview as soon as we can.

I want to let everyone know that this video went live at 4:30am here in Hawaii. Stephen spent the last 4 hours editing it to make sure we got a preview out as soon as possible for you. This is NOT A REVIEW since we had only a few minutes with the camera today. Over the next few days we will have hands on with the system to formulate another preview.

90's video game wars all over again. Sony is pulling a PlayStation with their cameras, while Nikon and Canon both pulled a N64 out of their butts in response.

Addendum: I'm not saying that the N64 was garbage. I still pull out GoldenEye 64. But what did Nintendo do? Not listen to the developers who wanted to make games for them. Screw CD because the Famicom Disk System had loading times, and didn't want to let go of their monopoly of manufacturing cartridges and their expensive licensing scheme.

No IBIS, $300 more than the Nikon and Sony comparable, 1.7 crop on 4K, single card slot. The Sony a73 keeps looking better.

I got a Canon 10-18 EF-S lens, when shooting in 4k if its cropped could I use my 10-18 on it? I thinking this would allow super wide angles.

Awesome video guys! Hope you're feeling better tomorrow Jared! 👌 While this is exciting and would be nice for some casual photos, this isn't a workhorse that you could use as a day to day camera. It is a prosumer camera at best.
I have the holy trinity of lenses for canon plus the 24-104 for video. Because of this it feels like I am trapped in the Canon world. If I want a video camera my choices are the C series or a 1dX. I was praying for 120 @ 1080.... maybe next year.

I was quitte anxious about making the jump to invest in a system for the long run. I had my eyes already on Sony due to the lack on offering from Nikon or Canon in the mirrorless spectrum. After now seeing these releasements i know that im beter off with Sony. I don't have time to wait for Canon nor Nikon to catch up. Even though i praise them for the DSLR's. And one thing... AGAIN THE ONE CARD SLOT!!!!

Will the lens adapter work for both EF and EF-S lenses ? This is a full frame mirroless so only Canon fullframe lenses should work right ?

I have manual samyang vdslr lens and not working on eosr (not allow recording) on 6d normal working..can eos support this lens or i have a problem??
